I know some people get married in big fancy churches..
We got married in our 'home church'..
Or did you get married Vegas style??

Well, I was married twice in one day. DH's father was a notary public and he wanted to do the wedding. Father was upset that we weren't getting married in the Catholic Church. So, as not to hurt anyone's feelings. Friend of DH's family that was a judge married us that afternoon. Then that evening for our small gathering of friends, FIL married us.

I was married in the church I grew up in. I don't live near it anymore so, now I attend the church I live near. :D

Got married in the church I grew up in. Now attend closer church same denomination.

Hmmm. . .

I guess I'd have to say - none of the above.

We don't attend church and we weren't married in one. We were married in an art gallery. :D

It just didn't seem right to get married in a church, when religion doesn't play a big part in our lives at all.

We were married in the Catholic Church I attended at the time. We now live one town over from there, and attend a different Catholic Church.

We are still members of the church where we were married. However, the senior pastor recently left and we have been visiting other churches in our denomination. When we go to another church, I feel like I'm cheating on our church.

Nope, in fact were were considering switching churches even before our wedding...

We went through just because of the deposits involved... Looking back we should have gotten married in our "true" church now, not the place we got married in.

We got married in a Roman Catholic church, lots of stained glass, huge cross on the ceiling....and it's in the most horrible section of Philadelphia that even if we still lived up there, we wouldn't go to it.

Very sad, it's a shame they can't move it somewhere else!

Not anymore because we moved to another state but we were married in our 'home' church at the time.

LOL....got married in Vegas. Been back once though....:D

I got married in the church I grew up in, but DH wasn't a local & after we married I moved to his town & so the answer is no, we don't attend the church we married in as we don't live there. But we were up there last weekend for an anniversary service. It's so nice to go back to where you began & all the dear old folk who still remember me & who are so surprised at how the boys have grown.:)

Nope! Married in a Catholic Church. Didn't like the Catholic Church by us, so we go to the Baptist Church where I teach Mom's Day Out at.

married in my home church at the time but immediately moved to FLA. Now attend a church of a different denomination near me with a deaf ministry. Baptist.

We were married in a Prebyterian church that we both belonged to, by the associate pastor there, and her husband, who is also a Prebyterian minister. At that time, he was the chaplain at a Presbyterian-affiliated college. They are both very close friends of ours. Our boys are good friends and we have vacationed together and have our Buccaneers season tickets together.

3 years ago, he was called to be the minister at the downtown Presbyterian church....the oldest Prebysterian church in our city and a dying one. We started going to church there to support him and the ministry he was trying to build and we love it. We officially joined the church about a year ago.

I don't feel like it's "cheating" on the other church at all. They've got plenty of members there, and lots of $$$ too.

We were married in one of two churches we attended at the time (we live right between two different ones). We picked that one because it was the one I received my First Communion and Confirmation in as well as for my brother and sister and my mom's funeral was held there. So we chose it because it was the "family" church. We go every once in a while, but we go to the other one more now because of the choir and priests who we feel more comfortable with.

CHURCH OF..........MOTHER NATURE:) :) :) ......We had a beautiful outdoor wedding just outside of Boston. It was a litttttttttttle tense.......for the last few nights before the wedding, I'd come home to find my sweet DEB glued to the WEATHER CHANNEL;) ;) ;) . As it turned out, we had sunny skies...........but temps of 95 degrees!!!!!!!:jester:
