Do you attend the church you got married in???

Nope it's 1100 miles away from where I live.

My husband and I were engaged for what seemed like an eternity when we finally decided that we didn't want to mess with a big wedding. I called my mom in Houston & asked her to phone the chapel where she and my dad (not my bio dad, but the only one who counts!) were married the previous year. We were married on New Year's Eve and graduated from college the following May. We didn't even know the minister's name until we read our marriage license.

:)

We were married by the chaplain of the hospital we were both working for at the time and he married us at his home parish. We do not belong to that faith but since ours is still stuck in the 12th century and DW was divorced, we couldn't get married at our church.

We married in the University of Houston Chapel. It's in Texas and we're not. The answer is no :)

We were married in DH's home church where he grew up. We moved about 30 mins. away and attend a different church now.

We lived out of town when we got married, so we got married in the church my parents used to attend.

My brother had a corporate membership and we were married in a civil ceremony at the Washington Athletic Club. I don't go to church there, but I'd sure like to work out there ;)

We got married in the church I had attended for the last previous six years while single and continued going there until we moved to another town. The funny thing is it was a mission congregation and we didn't have a formal arrangement. We had to move the chairs after the ceremoney to have the reception in the same room ( I definately did NOT want a country club reception!). They didn't have many weddings there, usually members "borrowed" a fancier neighboring church. But I wanted to be married in my home church and wouldn't have done it any other way so we kept it more casual. I still miss the people there and have gone back to visit.

I did have a few people disappointed that I didn't transport the whole wedding back to get married at the church I grew up in. Fortunately that wasn't my parents!

The church we go to now is beautiful and hosts lots of non-member weddings, but I wouldn't change my multi-purpose room wedding for anything!

Well, eight years ago today :teeth: , we were married in the church where we were members. (We actually met there). We don't live in the same town anymore so we belong to a church here. Actually, if we still lived in the same town we would most likely be going to a different church. It has changed a lot.

We got married in the church that my parents belonged to, St Anthonys. When we got married we moved a few towns over and became members of the church near there. We hardly ever went, but for our sons Christening, that was "our" church. Then we moved back to Woburn, right near my parents. So yes, now we are back in St Anthonys parish. Again, we dont go much, but it is our church.

Yes, same church. Also the same church DH and I were Baptized in.

DH and I got married in my "home" church....meaning the church I grew up in, went to sunday school, confirmation class, church, however it is no longer my "home" church because I no longer live in the town I grew up in.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

I got married in the same church that I grew up in and my kids have grown up in. So yes, we still attend the same church.

Yes we attend the church we were married in 20 years ago!

Our new priest is putting on a BIG addition and making our little, quaint church more "modernized" . I haven't contributed financially because I wasn't one of the ones who wanted it to change. I like it the way it is. That kind of change is hard for me.

Sadly, no. I was married in the Church of God that my great-grandfather built. It's right across the road from my parent's house. My parents got married there, and I believe that my grandmother was also. I was dedicated in that church, as are my two children. Unfortunately the Church shut down over 6 years ago because of no minister and a dwindling congregation.

We tried several other Churches and 4 years ago we began attending the Methodist Church in town.

I got married in a little church near the college we went to in Chicago.

Yup! Mrs. G & I got married in my family's home church where we regularly attend. In fact, we were married there, exactly 50 years to the day, and to the hour after my mom and dad were married there! :)
