Do you associate certain songs with things, not necessarily a soundtrack?

On The Good Ship Lollypop reminds me of my Nana. She always wanted me to sing that for her. I rarely hear it anymore though.

From the ages of 11-18 I went to camp for a week every summer. In the van on the way up, every year we'd hear Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel on the radio. Now, when I hear that song, I'm taken back.

Any time "Sweet Caroline" or "Dirty Water" comes on the whole car starts hopping. DD4 actually gets so red with giggles she looks like she is going to explode. They are Red Sox songs, of course.

"Brown Eyed Girl" and "Oh What a Night" remind me of every wedding reception I've ever been too.

"Come on Eileen" just completely captures the 80s for me...bad clothes, bad dancing (you know the step togther, step together moves I am talking about, and sometimes a circle kick-line) I had two pairs of lace stockings. I still wasn't cool though.

"Sweet Caroline" is played at all the UNH hockey games too. Whenever I hear that one I'm instantly back at the Whitt surrounded by friends belting it out.
I have a feeling the next time I hear Barry Manilow's "I Made it Through the Rain Again" all I will think of is the flooding that has ravaged southern NH for the last 3 weeks.
There's this country song that's something along the lines of "I'm from the country and I like it that way". Don't know the exact title, but it sums up my entire life so far.
