Do you ask strangers to take your pictures?

I've never asked anyone that isn't a CM, but we've had several offer. We get asked all the time, and (happily) do it every time! Ask away, what worse someone will say is no. And that probably isn't because they don't want to, but are scared to/don't really know how too; my mother couldn't work a digital camera to save her life.

I would like to do more this year with all of us in it. I know the employees will take your pictures for photo pass, but want some with my own camera. Do you ask workers, or strangers? Any other tips? Thanks! :cool1:

NO, NO, No you should never ask a stranger to take your picture in WDW....
Hi, I'm Dee, If you pay my way I will gladly take all your pictures in WDW for you.

Seriously, I'm hardly ever in the family pictures because I just snap away, but when I think of it I will ask anyone who doesn't look too busy to take our pictures. I also try to offer if I see someone taking a group picture. Once DH and I offered to take a picture of a couple we over heard saying they had forgotten to take a camera (Niagra Falls). We offered to take their name & address to mail them the pictures, but they were understandably hesitant and decided no. (can't say I would've taken stangers up on such an offer either).

I get a little embarassed, too, but I think the solution would be to ask the cast members. They seem to be there to please, and they're getting paid no matter what they do. I think it seems like a very good idea. I'm going with my 2 dauhters, and I really hope I can get some pics of us 3 together to send to Iraq for Daddy.

Don't let any embarassment get in your way of doing things. No matter what it is! Good luck!

Yes, I'd ask. In fact I've done it. I also always volunteer if I see someone taking a picture of their family. Normally if you volunteer to take a picture of them, they'll also volunteer to take a picture of you (not that that's why I do it, but it just usually works out that way). I made a solo trip to WDW in May '05 and had fun asking to take other people's pictures. It takes 2 sec and most people enjoy helping others out. May '06 my mom and I were at Epcot in the back of that shop in United Kingdom waiting to take a picture with Pooh and gang. A lady and her daughter in front of us were having a fit because they couldn't get their camera to turn on and finally decided it was the batteries. I volunteered to loan them the batteries out of my camera and we were both able to get our pictures. I'd planned on having the CM take our picture, but the lady I had loaned the batteries to volunteered, so no way was I going to say no. We helped each other out.

I am not afraid to ask others to take our picture and I always try and return the favor at least once for each time I ask.. My small way of paying it forward while at the parks.

Yes we ask strangers to take our pictures in Disney at least a couple of times each trip. Also we volunteer to take other peoples family pictures so they all can be in the photo. I think it is a nice jesture. It's the worst when you don't have at least a few photos with the whole family in the picture.

Yes, we have asked in the past. Usually, though, when someone sees me taking pictures of DH & kids & then DH takes one of me & the kids some nice passer-by offers to do it for us....and of course we reciprocate.

Most CM's at most theme parks will do it during the loading of the rides if you ask nicely and have everything ready for them. I have some awsome photos of us holding the babies when we first got onto the Dumbo ride and one at Alladin too. Just be prepared for a no if the rides are moving too quickly because they won't hold up the ride for you. I usually ask the CM who is pointing out our seat and have the camera ready & in hand to pass off.

Ask away, if someone asked me I would be happy to help. As long as I'm not rushing a toddler to the nearest restroom, so I guess use common sense first. But you would be in Disney World, who could say no? It is the happiest place on earth!

Yes, I ask. I am embarresed to but in the end I am more happy to have a picture with everyone in it. :thumbsup2

A lot of times there is another family trying to take a picture of the same thing. In those cases I'll offer to take theirs if they take ours. Other wise I will find a cast member and ask them.

I also offer to take pictures of families or couples taking pictures. I'll offer to take it so they can step in the photo too. A lot of times I see people trying to prop their cameras on trash cans and I always offer to help them. Sometimes they don't want help but usually they are thrilled!

Just ask, you'll be glad you did. :sunny:
