Do you always try different resorts?

:lovestruc Most of the time I see signatures where people often try different resorts just like myself. But I am curious why. I usually try to switch resorts once a year for my mom. She likes to try something different all of the time while we are at WDW. But if it were up to me I usually am a creature of habit. Once I find some place nice and clean I could continue to go back there again and again. I guess that is why I choose WDW every year for our vacation. I just can't get enough of it.:rotfl:

part of me wants to try something new - the other part loves the savings at Pop....

so my DVC is generally different - but when I stay in the WDW part - it is generally POP.

I'm like you, i'd be happy to stay at the same place if I was happy there before (I loved POFQ for instance and would happily go back every year) but my DH is the complete opposite. He feels going back to the same place is a repeat of the previous holiday and he wants to experience something different.

This time we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge and I suspect DH will want to stay somewhere else after that...he loves change and I don't and our hotel selection will probably be different each year (as long as its at WDW of course!) ;)

I've stayed at just about every Disney resort. I like the change but my main reason for trying the others is because I want to know if one is better or worse than the other. I first stayed at what is now called Port Orleans Riverside. The next trip, I went to Caribbean Beach. I found I liked one better than the other. I've stayed at all of the Epcot resorts except the Dolphin and quite honestly can't say I prefer one over the other. But at least I know what each has to offer. I found I prefer one value over the rest.

So I can honestly say WHY I prefer one resort over another. Because I've experienced both.

I enjoy trying the different resorts - but I find it very difficult to pay the extra $$ for the deluxe resorts. I normally try a deluxe when we are in WDW for a short trip - but for a week long visit I much prefer a moderate resort!!!:wizard:

Once I find a place I really like, I tend to like to go back to it. We've done four different resorts at Disney, and we are set on the CSR. The only other resort at this point that we would be willing to try (and we have stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian and All-Star Sports) is the Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savannah View. But until both of our boys graduate from college and decide to repay us, we will stick with our home away from home--the CSR.

Our goal is to stay at all of them at some point...although the all stars are far down the list.

My goal is to stay at every WDW resort.....so I like to change.

After my April trip I would have tried all the DVC's(not Vero or HH).
this way I know where i want to add on:goodvibes

I was going to try CSR this April for part of my stay....but pool rehab is going on. So BWV and OKW it is.....both new resorts for me:goodvibes

So my next mod to try is CSR and the next deluxe I want to try is Poly.

:flower3:I am staying w/my mom and DD(6) at the CSR. I just finished reading some threads where people just returned and didn't care for this resort. I hope I made the right decision. I based it on family who stayed there before and after reading Buzz2001 report on CSR. Hope it will be better than what some are saying especially about the Pepper Market. Is it really that bad?:confused3

On the one hand we would love to return to old favorites, but we'd also like to try new resorts. Although, after not being as crazy about our last 2 resorts, we're tempted to go back to the old favorites! LOL ;)

Length of our stay & that year's money situation also play a part in if we return to just POP, split a stay between POP & something pricier, or go all out at a fancier resort. :)

I like to try different resorts just to make sure I am not missing out on something wonderful. That said, once I like a place it is hard for me to go anywhere else in fear it won't measure up to the place I loved.
I am glad we have tried different resorts because our preferences are different from a majority of reviews I have read about specific resorts. For instance, I did not fall in love with WL and didn't really like SSR (I would like to give it another chance, though) On the other hand we loved OKW. Of course BCV is amazing. In May we are going to try out BWV and I can't wait.

The way I look at it, like the rest of The World... there's just so much to see. As of this summer my family will have the moderates covered. As a kid I also was able to stay at The Polynesian and Fort Wilderness. Why lock yourself into just one resort ? That's like deciding that the Magic Kingdom is the ultimate Disney experience and never getting to discover Epcot, Blizzard Beach, and the rest !

CSR is great!! We've tried staying at 4 other resorts and kicking ourselves or even switching the reservation mid-trip because we miss CSR so much! We absolutely love the Pepper Market and eat all of our CS meals there. It's great having so much variety of food all in one place. We love the Mexican and Asian dishes especially.

I would LOVE to try different resorts and did try some as a kid. Now that I've got my own family, we seem to really stick with the Poly and did a split stay at the POR. Everytime I go to make a ressie, I think to myself that I will try a different hotel, but the Poly feels like home to us, so it's hard to stray.

Someday I'd love to try the Yacht Club, did the Beach Club as a kid and liked it. I'd also love to stay at the GF again.

We recently just started visiting WDW on a regular bases(every other year since 2005) so I don't have many experiences at the resorts. In the 1990's we did stay at Sports(brand new at the time) and then POR. 05-POP, 07-CBR. We are planning to mix it up. We never had horrible visits at any of the resorts. We did love CBR:thumbsup2 We are planning on staying at ASMO in 2009. I always was interested in trying that value at least once and my DS is requesting that resort. He will be 8 at the time of the trip. We better go before he loses interests in ASMO theming. Plus we are planning a day at Universal so I thought it would be best to stay value to save money.

not really - we've stayed at all the values, and the CR

(love the CR best! can't beat that MK tower view!)

but someday, i want to stay at the BC during F&W

(just for the convenience of walking to EP!)

We like to try someplace new each trip. Although if we see lots of animals at AKV we may stick with that location.

My goal is (also) to stay at each resort (mods & deluxes). They all are so different so I think they would offer a slightly different type of vacation.

We are creatures of habit by choice when we are at home.....we like to try different things when on vacation, esp. at WDW.
We plan to try all the mods and deluxes and then start over....

As you can see in my sig., we like to try a different resort each year. My ds 10's goal is to stay at everyone for atleast one night. Last year, we stayed one night at the Pop before moving on to GF. This year I thought he would want to try an All Star for one night but he decided he wanted to check out the Pop again (last year we were there for about a total of 8 hours - most of which were spent sleeping). I hope that together we can meet that goal!! Next year, I want to try a EPCOT area resort. We didn't really plan to try a different resort but some of the years my dad has had a conference and that dictated where we stayed.
