Do you always have your camera bag with you in the car and at the office in case you see something worth a photo on your way to work or while out and about?

I get a few looks and questions about my camera bag always being with me and was wondering if anyone else did the same?

Not ALWAYS - I used to keep my P&S compact in the car all the time as a just-in-case camera, but don't really use P&S anymore. Nowadays, if I'm going for a drive, and sometimes just headed to work, I'll bring my mirrorless camera and one attached lens, which fits in the cupholder in my center console...so I can be ready for random sightings. But I don't bring it religiously when commuting to work - mostly only on weekends for casual drives, going to friends' houses, etc...of course when I'm not already going somewhere for the expressed intent of photographing!

Going to Disney which is about 1 a month, going to my second job and going to special occasions is about the only time it is in car.

Camera with a walkaround lens most of the time. Whole bag of tricks only when I'm going out specifically to shoot.

I used to have my camera in my car all the time. Never knew when I was gonna see something I just had to have a picture of.

Then I had to get a new job, and my car was no longer in a parking garage all day. There's no way I'll leave my camera out in the southern heat during the day. By the time it gets cool enough outside, the sun starts setting at 5pm, so there isn't much left to take pics of.

If I'm going somewhere, I'll definitely have my camera with me.

I have to have mine accessible when I'm at work, because photography is part of my job. Sometimes it is in the office (if I expect to need it that day), and sometimes it is in the car. I usually have it available the rest of the time, usually with my 17-50 attached, because that is the lens I use most often, and because it fits well in the bag's camera "slot" with that lens. But if I need to run into town and drive my wife's car, I probably won't take the time to transfer the bag between vehicles.
