do you allow sleepovers ?

Unless there was a good reason, no, never on a school night. Plenty on the weekends though. :)

We have only had one school night sleepover.

DS's friend's mother was going in for breast cancer surgery and didn't want her son to miss school. So she asked if he could stay the night.

Of course he could!

Normally the child would sleep in a sleeping bag an on an air bed in DS's room during a sleepover.

However, since it was a school night, the child slept in the guest room.

It turned out just fine.

Normally a school night sleepover is a "no way", however, circumstances may dictate a change in opinion.

Only for instances like previous posters wrote ie. parents out of town, sick etc.

Honestly, my kids are not too big on sleepovers and I'm fine with that. My dd only will sleep at her bf's, my middle one only at her cousins and my youngest(9) hasn't slept anywhere but Grandma's yet.

Don't think we would have a "just for fun" sleepover on a school night. But if someone was out of town or had an emergency of some sort, that would be fine.
::yes:: ditto.

Another consideration for me would be who the friend was. My dd12 and her best friend are pretty mellow together and go to sleep at a reasonable time even on weekend sleepovers. With some of her other friends though, they go nuts and don't get enough sleep, so I'd be more likely to allow a school night sleepover with the best friend than one of the others.

Let's see, we've had a total of one school-night sleepover since DD14 was born, and that was only because the sleepoverer's (LOL) parents were out of the country until the next day. If it was just for fun, no way!
