Do you actually work at work?

I had 3 real jobs after graduating from college - the first one I really worked

the second one - I planned my wedding - I maybe did 15 - 20 minutes of work a day (and I got my job done!!!)

the third one - sometimes I hardly had time to breathe and other times - I could go days without doing anything

my brother used to be a consultant with a big firm and could go weeks without being sent on a job -yet he still got paid while he was on the bench

so I wonder - how many of you have had this type of job

to be truthful - my favorite job was the one where I actually had stuff to do - I hated sitting around all day - I found that a lack of work - made me a bad employee!

Now I am a SAHM - and there is PLENTY to do!!

I am a computer lab supervisor at a junior high school. I also teach a couple of English/Writing classes. For the periods that I'm in my English class, I work! I barely sit down, even if the kids are working on their computers writing-- I'm always walking around helping them out.

The rest of the time, when I'm back in the computer lab, unless I'm asked to teach a piece of software or unless I'm getting a lot of technical questions/problems from the kids, I have time to do wahtever. It's nice because I can grade papers or plan lessons, or just sit around Dis-ing if I want.

My other jobs have been a lot busier.

Yep, sure do. Although I can't say the same for some others there.

I do!! Some days I have so much to do, I can't breathe. Other days, like today, I don't have a lot to do. I love my job! It is a good balance.

Were I work we have been pretty slow - the place is probably closing in a month or two. I have been here 25 years!

I am on the Dis Boards all day, I would prefer to be real busy in work, it makes the day go much quicker. I actually run out of things to look at on the computer.

My last position at the school was so bad. I wanted more work, but there wasn't enough work for me to do (it didn't help that I was very efficient). At last count, there were at least three people looking for something to do and would stretch out a project that would take me an hour into THREE DAYS!

I really wanted to do more.


I have since quit that position, and am looking into other school districts. I am hoping that I have more to do!
