yes i type the right way, that is why i respond so fast because i am a fast typer.

I took typing in school, this was in the 80's with actualy typewriter and I hated it and would hardly ever turn in my work. I passed it somehow. But a friend bought me a typewriter/word processer afterwards and I really started improving. I hated having a piece of paper over the keyboard and doing aaaaa, bbbbb, etc.

I do actually type the right way. I learned on an official typewriter that is not extinct. The basic keyboard hasn't changed though so I can still type pretty fast.

I do it the right way, thank the Lord. I have to type all day at work (case notes, documentation, email, etc), if I didn't know how to type I'd be in real trouble.

My DH does the hunt and peck stuff, it actually annoys me if he is trying to take care of some kind of business, I kick him out of his chair and type for him!

I've had keyboarding. If I look at the keyboard when I'm typing I can do pretty good. If I'm not looking lots of typo's.

I do it correctly and I type very fast. I can easily pull 100-120 wpm. But the downside is TONS of errors.

Freshman year in HS. Took typing and really bad at it. Way too many mistakes (this was actual typewriters, would of ben 1984 or so.)

I got a D in the class. I turned in this bussiness letter that was all a joke, but in the right foremat and she failed me.

However to this day I swear it is the only class I ever took in HS that I use on a daily basis and one of the most important things I did learn. With out this skill I never would of been able to graduate from college and go on to get a masters degree.

Thank God for the back space on computers and spell check. I can type much faster then hand right and I hate hand writing. Too slow, I forget what I was trying to say! I do better if I don't look down, but whoa is one of my fingers is off.

I remember my 7th and 8th grade typing classes on the electric typewriters. The teacher would stand in the front of the room and recite "ada space, sfs space, jlj space"... over and over.

But I did learn how to type and even with speed. So it was worth it.

This is the same with me. If I slow myself down and type with no errors, then its closer to 80-90wpm. I took typing in jr high and I was the queen of hunt and peck. Got a passing grade, but didn't really learn that much in it. It wasn't until I got into college and took some computer keyboading classes that I actually "learned" to type. Then I took jobs that had me doing tons and tons of keyboarding.....so over the years my speed and accuarcy both improved. It freaks the sweetpea out that I can type something while watching a show on the tv at the same time. She finds it freaky that I can type but not look at the keyboard or the screen.

I am the same way, it drives me crazy watching my husband type! I taught myself in 7th grade, my Dad brought home a typing computer game, kind of like space invaders, where you had to type the word correctly before the aliens killed you.
