Do we pay extra to ride the amphicar at The Boathouse restaurant or is it part of dinner?

Ok so we are confused about The Boathouse. It looks really cool. But we cant find information on if the boat rides in those classic cars are part of having dinner there or do we pay extra. If we pay extra then how much? And do we need to make reservations for the boat ride? We already booked our dinner at the Boathouse.

How much is the tethered balloon ride at DTD?

According to Disney's site, $18 for adults and $12 for children for an 8-10 minute flight. So, comparable price per minute if considering 3 adults. If solo, only 2 adults, family of 4 with not-small children, family of 5+, etc. though, it's not so comparable...

Also Boathouse will not take reservations for the 20 minute ride or at least they would not for me. They also do a strawberries and champagne cruise but it is in a different boat.

Many people are paying for it. There was always a boat in the lake or getting ready to head in the lake every time we walked around dtd in July. Too much for me to spend though.

Not trying to defend the cost, but for the car fans and gear-heads out there ... these are supposed to be authentic (restored) amphicars which are pretty rare. I think part of the price comes down to riding in a true amphicar.

Good chance I'll give the tour a shot this October while I'm down

1) Nothing is free or included at Disney.
2) If it were, you would not want to pay the higher price for the meal.
That doesnt make any sense. I wouldnt want to pay the higher price for the meal if I got the car ride included?? Why not?? Actually if the car ride was included the extremely high prices of the menu would make more sense to me and I would be more likely to actually eat at the Boathouse.

I agree with Rusty. In never even occurred to me that the Amphicar experience would be included. If it was, the prices you consider to be extremely high would be considerably higher. The current price structure is in line with upscale steakhouse across the country. In that realm they are not exorbitant. They certainly aren't for everyone, but they are not out of line for upscale steakhouses.

1) The price COULD NOT be included, as there is not enough profit in DDP reimbursements.
2) And, far too many people still believe DDP is a bargain.
3) Without DDP being able to cover dinner, lots of folks would not eat at the Boathouse.
4) So, including the ride would be counter-productive.

Nope not included with dinner. They have too few cars to give everybody who eats there a ride. Plus they are making money off charging for a ride.

There's a bit of a discount for AP on the amphicars.

As far as the menu prices, they are bringing a lot of upscale restaurants into Disney Springs that will likely be similarly priced.

Sort of OT, but the balloon ride used to be offered on Groupon at a good discount....

Well we are using DDP this trip and it will be a heck of bargain because it's free! And if it wasnt for free dining we would never even consider eating at The Boathouse because it seems like a complete rip off.
