DH and I are going on our own this year - and will be there from 19th Apr to 5th May, instead of over the school Easter holidays, as we have done previously.

As there will only be the two of us, and the crowds will presumably be less, and we don't want character meals, do you think we will need to make ADRs before we leave?

We haven't decided where exactly we want to eat yet, but the list is likely to include Jiko and Hollywood & Vine, and maybe California Grill, V&A, Narcooossees or Citricos.

I would book the ones that you really want to eat at, that way you won't be disapointed. You can always change your mind when you get there.

I really don't know about that time of year so can't say how needed an ADR may be however to avoid disappointment I would make an ADR for the restaurants that I really wouldn't want to miss out on.

I like your choices, V&A superb, Jiko, California Grill and Citricos excellent:thumbsup2 Just thinking about them is making my mouth water and I've not long eaten lunch;)

For V & A and California Grill I would definately make ADRs, these are popular, the rest I reckon you could wing it when you get there.

I would make ADRs for the meals you really want.
Last year we tried to do a walk up for Le Cellier in EPCOT and we were dissppointed we tried to also make and ADR a day ahead again for Le Cellier and they couldn't fit us in :sad2:

Some restaurants you'll be able to walk up as there us just two of you, but you might be unable to get the times you want and end up with either a evening reservation at 4pm! or 9:30pm!

good luck

We visited last year late April ~ We had made all of our ADRs before we left home. We changed a few of them, mainly the times and usually on the mornings of the ADRs. There was only one we couldn't switch and that was Le Cellier, although we were able to change it completely for another date later in the trip.

I would say for the price of a phonecall and your peace of mind to make the ADRs before travelling. You can always alter them, if you need to, when you get there.

I made a few ADRs last week (but only because I was already on a free call to DVC who will make reservations for members) and got the days and times I wanted with no problem - including California Grill and Le Cellier, and my trip will overlap yours. I'd think you would probably be okay, depending on how flexible you can be, especially with the more popular one like California Grill.

I would suggest making ADR's. For our trip at end of April we rang bang on the 180 days (190) and made ADR's (Californian, Jiko, Boma, Chef Mikeys, Artists Point, Whispering Canyon, Le Cellier and San Angel) and could not get all the times we wanted but got close. Califormian we could only get within an hour of the time we wanted.

Yes. Absolutly make ADRs. If you want to change them you can do so when you are there.

Have a great time!

I keep seeing all the new commercials Disney has on tv now. Ive been hearing a lot about Disney on the radio too! Its killing me!!!!!
We do not have a trip planned.

Will definitely try to make our ADRs, in the light of your advice. Have almost decided which restaurants we want to go to - now need to decide which days for each. I'd better get a move on!

Done it! Just had to make a minor adjustment as Citrico's isn't open on Monday - but we now have ADRs for the following:

Biergarten
Raglan Road
Boma
California Grill
Hollywood & Vine
Jiko's
Citrico's
Artist Point

Thanks for the advice. By calling now, we have got more or less the times that we wanted.

Julie
