So, DH, DDs and I are heading to FL next month. My mom and dad are coming along as well. We have separate reservations and dining plans. When the 6 of us go to eat together, do I need to get separate checks, and even if not needed, would you suggest it, as to not get the credits messed up? Or can they just separate it with one bill? Thanks!

You will need separate checks so they can deduct each rooms credits. Just tell your server up front who is in each room.

Yes you will need to get seperate checks. Also be aware that even though you will be "seperate" if you are all at the table together you will be charged the automatic 18% gratuity. Just an FYI.

Have a great trip!!

We forgot to mention that we weren't all on one dining plan once when it was my parents, brother, and I in a room and my sister and BIL in another. They could have credited our account and taken from my sister and BIL's but sis & BIL just bought our next meal with their DDP because it was early on in our vacation and had enough credits to cover it. The other times we mentioned that the two of them were on one DDP and we were on another. My dad paid the 18% tip on all of our meals, so like the PPs said 18% will be charged whether or not you split the bills. Honestly, the DDP is so easy and they make it easy on you. Just make sure you check the bottom of your receipts that each meal takes the correct # of credits! :thumbsup2
