Do we need PS for every meal?

9  more days. I'm starting to get a feeling that PS is a must for most meals. We only made a couple ressie, CRT, HDDR and Chief Mickeys. Are we in trouble? We haven't really laid out a schedule about where we'll be a certain days as we'd like to be flexible.
Can we just walk into most resturants and get a seat? Should we call early in the morning? should we call now? we'll we be eating from vending machines?
We do have the MYW dinning plan.

I only do PS for a few meals, usually 1 breakfast halfway thru the stay on our sleep in day and a few dinners (we're normally at WDW 7-9 days). My DD's (ok and me to) are so excited about being in the parks that they (we) don't want to sit and eat and since it's vacation I let the rules of healthy eating go down the drain.

We also go over 4th of July, so I always make PS's for that day. The other days we're always able to get last minute PS's, although not always exactly where we want to eat.

I always get a PS if I am going to a sit down restaurant. You should have a PS for Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner(if possible) to be on the safe side and to ensure that you will get to eat where you want to. :sunny:

No....You will not need PS's. You'll be there at a relatively slow time. We have gone in various months, last year we went in June. We never failed to get a PS by calling a couple hours in advance, or just showing up with no PS. We're talking places like Narcoossee's, Artist Point, all the Epcot full service restaurants, etc, etc. Does everyone on the DIS really know what they want for lunch 90 days from now?

As you can see, you'll hear all kinds of opinions on this. Since you're going at a (relatively) slower time of year, you won't need to make a PS for every meal. But, even at the slowest times, it pays to make PS's for your favorite places ahead of time. It sounds like you've already done that though. If there are a couple of other places you don't want to take a chance on missing, go ahead and make a PS. If you change your mind later, you can always cancel. Otherwise, waiting until you get there and making any PS's you decide on then should work out fine for most restaurants.

If there is somewhere you want to eat that is a must I would make a PS. If you are flexible about where to eat I say No you don't. We go all the time sometimes spure of the moment for a day trip and don't make PS for those, but for our long trips we always make PS has we have a musts ad of course like to eat at CRT plus it is fun to plan everything. You may have a long wait though. There is also DTD if you can't eat in the park.

I think the new dining plan is going to have an immense effect on WDW restaurants. With the MYW plan, people who normally do not eat all of their meals at Disney table service restaurants now will be eating at them for their entire stay. For example, we typically go for eight days, and historically have utilized Diseny table service restaurants maybe four or five times per trip. We have favorite offsite restaurants that we have always frequented.

However, this year with the plan, which is too good a deal to pass up, we have already booked 10 PS. I don't think my family is unique in this respect--this plan will make Disney restaurants MUCH busier than in the past, and I believe that PS is going to be absolutely necessary for anyone who does not want to experience unreasonable waits.

You can always cancel them when you get there, but I would urge anyone who wants to eat at a WDW restaurant to make some reservations!

I agree with you estnh!
I figure since I'm paying for a sit down I'm going to go to a sit down. Which I'm sure everyone else is saying the same thing.
I'm happy that most of the replies say it will be a slow time of the year.
