do we need proof of age for children under 3?

we are going in october with our 2 year old twins. because of their age, we don't need to pay their admission to the theme parks, but do we need some form of id (birth certificates?) on us?

I checked with WDW about this back in 2002 as our DD was only 1 y.o back then. The CM's at CRO said that we wouldn't require ID. We never took DD's passport with us to the parks and we were never questioned about her age.

When I worked at The Disney Store, a guest was buying tickets and was tellnig me that on their previous trip, they had been asked for proof of age since their child looked older than 3. They had to call a friend who worked at the hospital their child was born in and she had to quickly fax over the birth certificate. It was a hassle for her. For the most part, people haven't been asked, but I guess it's always better to play it safe just in case.

I'm thinking this too. Our grandson is only eighteen months old but he's as big as any three year old. I told our DD to bring along his birth certificate card just to be on the safe side.

now that I'm thinking of it, will all 3 of my kids need birth certificates for the flight? its not like they have any other form of id.

As far as I know, kids don't need anything for the flight unless it has been changed in the past couple of months.

As for disney, I called because last October we were going and my son was to be three in december. The guy said, don't worry about it I wouldn't be asked. My son does not look or young for his age, he looks about his age. Never once were we questioned or even looked at oddly.

But I have heard stories here on the dis of kids being questioned about their age. Doesn't hurt to throw in the luggage. I woudn't lug it around with you though.

We just got back a couple of weeks ago, and we took a copy of our 2 yr olds birth certificate. We were never asked, but I read on these posts awhile back about a woman who was questioned and couldn't produce a bc, so they charged her admission for her 2 yr old. I would bring it just to be safe!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of two year old (as well as our DN1.5) look like they could be as much as four years old -- I think that's really the only children for whom you'd really need to have the protection of having proof of age available.
