Do we need CRT?

I'm questioning our plans for our trip and wanted some insight from the great members of Dis. We're doing dinner in the castle and PSB for lunch (different days). I was going to do CRT breakfast on DD's 8th b-day but now I'm questioning if this is necessary and considering doing Wonderland Tea for her b-day instead. I know she'll love a real tea party, she's always playing with her tea sets at home, and the only other time I could do this she'd miss out on swimming to fit it in which she'll be very bummed about. What are your thoughts, CRT or Tea Party?

TIA, Calie princess:

We are also having dinner at the castle and doing the Princess Storybook for dinner. We decided to skip CRT and, instead, do the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. It is very expensive, but from everything I have read, it is worth it. A very intimate setting where the girls are treated like royalty. Since it is your dd's birthday, it might be worth the price tag. Hvae a great time no matter what you decide.

Since you're doing dinner at the castle, I'd do the tea party. Cinderella is available at Toontown and is sometimes in the lobby for dinner. Plus you're doing PSB. I think she'd remember the tea party more.

I have not done either however, from reading your post it seems that your daughter would really love the tea party. However, if price is an issue I'd then try to get CRT which is supposed to be lovely as well. You can't really go wrong with either. Happy early B-day to your DD!

I've never done the tea party, but we did CRT last time. It was absolutely wonderful, but we are not doing it this time, partly because we want to give others a chance to experience it, and partly because we are having lunch with the princesses in Norway.

I would think the tea party would be a really nice change from all of the "meals" you are eating. I wanted to schedule this for my DD but the timing didn't work out. I was trying to schedule the one at the GF which is for an hour or so in the afternoon during the week. It was only $30 or so, and it was for kids only. Is this the one you are referring to?

Anyway, I would say if you've already done CRT before, definitely try a new experience. If you haven't, I would still lean toward tea, since its really different from the character meals. From what I understand, they get to make little cakes and really spend time with the characters. It sounds just darling!

Thank you all for the replies, it really helps to have input and validation that I wouldn't be "missing out" by skipping CRT(this is DD's 1st trip to WDW, and our 1st since finding the Dis so we've never done any of these special things). I think DD would enjoy the tea party more and it will be more memorable since we're already doing a meal in the castle for atmosphere and a princess meal at Norway. I'm doing the $30 one at GF with Alice & Mad Hatter, can't justify $200 for the other one with everything else we're doing on the trip. This will also give us a nice rest at the cafe and a chance to try the chocolate & fruit fondue :cutie:

Thanks, Calie
