We have bought our 2.9 yr old her own seat on the airplane, can she just use the regular seatbelt, or do we have to bring a carseat for the flight? Once we get to Orlando, we are using all WDW transportation, buses= no carseat. So if I don't need to have one on the plane it would make our life much easier!!! Does anyone know? :flower:

We flew to WDW in May with our 2.5 year old in a regular airplane seat and had no problems. She was just seat-belted in like the rest of us. My wife is a pediatrician and I am a therapist who works with people after bad motor vehicle accidents, so we are very very sensitive about safety issues, and we had no worries with her in a regular seat.

Thank you so much for the information. While I am a pretty relaxed Mom, I am a stickler when it comes to carseats! My father was a call :firefight and growing up when my mom was at work, if there was a call for an accident I would have to go with him( back in the 70's, it was o.k. to leave your kids in the truck!). I saw some yucky things I would like to forget( no one used seatbelts in the 70's!) So I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing.( Sorry for the story of my life!! :confused3 )

I a plane, the regular seat should be good enough. Many airline flight attendants whom I have asked have opined that normal size kids >2 should ride in the regular seat. Now if you are going to need the car seat in FL, maybe using it on the plane would be preferable to checking it (if renting a car and using DME, then gate checking it). Our DD first flew when she was a little older than 3 and was a little small at that time; we used a car seat since we would need one in FL, tho the FA said that for future reference we would not likely need it.

Good luck!
