Do we like the new DVC logo?

While on our trip two weeks ago, a DVC CM at BCV asked us if we'd seen it & what we thought of it. I told him that I prefer the old one & he told me that the vast majority of everyone he talked to agreed.

I think the old one was a bit more unique in design ? The new one---while nice--looks like it could represent anything ?

I miss the old logo. The new one has a lack of representation towards DVC.

The ears are weirdly shaped and disproportional.

I agree, we should have been able to vote. DVC would be nothing without its members!

It ultimately doesn't make a big enough difference for me to care one way or the other because I think they're both fine, but if I had to pick, I like the new one better. The old one was kinda busy, while this new one is cleaner and more sleek. I actually like that it doesn't tell a story and is sort of generic, because that means I can wear something with the logo without it screaming "I bought this on vacation."

I don't really consider the new thing a logo more of a oh I don't know... a corporate... "earmark" or something???? Kinda like a nickname????

Maybe it's because we've been members for a long time, but I look like it this way... I want the three mountains when I want to identify with the DVC that I'm a member of ... when I want "my" DVC. Then when Jim Lewis and his buddies want to play with their little corporation, and have their little love fest with their "best kept secret", they can bust out the new little mickey world ear logo, kwim? the mickey-sploitation kinda works better then...

Are they still giving new members the canvas bag? Has the logo been replaced with this one? I love my two mountain one - I've gotten a number of "what is that" and "that's so cool" comments from strangers just from using it to carry my computer to/from work on the train every day. Even around work coworkers have been curious and I've had one referral that way. (btw - I have no other DVC merchandise or pics in my cube)

I really doubt an obvious mickey symbol will evoke such reactions or questions about what DVC is. Most people already think they know what a mickey stands for and won't want to talk more about it. I also thought the old logo was a bit more grown-up. I'm an adult, I'm not going to go around wearing a mickey on my shirt (although I'll make the exception for my D&B wristlet which I use only at WDW). Call it blasphemy, but Disney is NOT a mouse to me. It's about an escape from reality and the opportunity to forget our worries for a bit.

We like the new logo and it makes collecting merchandise with the old logo on it even more rewarding. I have a few pieces with the three mountain logo...very hard to find.

I think the new logo is modern and speaks to the diversity that DVC is becoming.

What's diverse about it? It's Mickey's head in the shape of a globe. I found the 3 mountains more diverse than that...

The old logo was distinctively DVC, the new one is BLAH! They must have been in a creative slump when they designed this new logo because there is nothing creative about it. A globe with 2 ears and no color, had to take about 2 seconds to design.

I really disliked the old one.. so this one is amazing in comparison.

I prefer the former logo. It's colorful, fun and interesting. I feel happy when I look at it.

The new one feels cold and dark and I find it generic and boring. It also looks like the earth has been completely submerged or that I'm looking at the earth from way out in space where it is very dark and very cold. I feel cold when I look at it.

This change feels like the DVC version of "New Coke".

Totally agree with both posts. No doubt plenty of cash got spent on this (so not necessary), so I'd venture a guess there are some people out there who are patting themselves on the back & are real happy

Well, the poll is closed and almost exactly half of us felt that they wanted the old logo back.
