I am shocked that i don't have it in the FAQ...shocked I tell you. ;)

My sister is planning on the half and I wanted to send her stuff about racing attire. I thought we had a thread somewhere...anybody know where it is?

If not, I can write something--I just thought there was something out there so I wouldn't have to write it from scratch.

Looks like your writing it from scratch :rotfl:

I'm surprised too. I know there was a thread but I didn't bookmark it either.

Remember Target when you write it. Ladies if you prefer a traditional shaped t-shirt with regular arms and a bit longer check the mens section. They carry C9 for the guys too and Susan and I have been happy with them.

I tried One More Mile at the Jan. Expo and so far I like the shirt I picked up. I went with a ladies long sleeve in i think large. I'll get a few more from them in the future. Love their sayings. :) Especially the 13.1 (or 26.2) till the next Rest Area.

Ohhh!!! Socks!!! I like Wright, double layer running socks. And this winter we found out that they have a slightly longer pair that works wonderfully for winter. Last winter we suffered with just the ankle length ones. Brrr.

Watch those clearance racks at Target AND keep an eye on REI's clearance racks. I was surprised to find some tights that were about the regular price of Target.

Have fun writing!

Oh and someone was just talking about another brand of socks that they were all swearing by.

With socks--I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Oasics....plus I like that they are labeled L and R so you know which foot to put them on. :rotfl2:

I wanted to comment on something that happened to me for the first time during the Disney full. I bought a white Nike tech shirt with a black horizontal stripe at chest level. Well the stripe had seams and for the first time ever I had that raw nipple issue. Shirts with a horizontal stripe at chest level is a no-no for guys. OUCH!

Dave:)

I'm dying to find apparel that will eliminate the need for a fanny pack. I think a cycling shirt with pockets in the back is what I want, but I'm having trouble choosing one.

Can anyone offer tips or hints? I'm really interested in learning if anyone makes them in a ladies tank style for summer long walks.

Thanks.

Kelley:

I know Reioutlet.com and performancebike.com have some bike jerseys on sale. I did see sleeveless versions. I read somewhere to watch where the seams are on the sleeved versions since bikers don't move their arms as much as runners, causing possible "rub" spots.

HTH,
Dan.

Kelley,

I have Champion tank from Target that I LOVE! It has a small zippered pocket in the left side seam, sort of towards the back. I can fit my cell phone in it (just barely).

Not sure that pocket is big enough for what you need, but you might want to check it out. I think they still have tanks with that little pocket. I bought mine last summer.

For those of you that haven't tried these running skirts, I absolutely love them. I'm a huge fan of the gym girl - helps prevent chafing! Just wanted to pass this along because the pinks ones are 50% off, Valentine's Day only. The skirts are a bit expensive, but 50% is the perfect excuse to try one!

SkirtSports loves pink!

I just ordered my first skirt, can't wait to get it!! They look so cute, a nice alternative to bike shorts.

Let me know how you like the skirt. My cousin ran the Goofy in skirts - she converted me and I definitely prefer them over shorts!

Sounds like you need to get some "nip-guards".;)

I get racing shorts from the running store. They have mesh pockets in the back and really--nothing falls out. I can hold a cell phone, my gu, and some biofreeze. My coaches have even run with a small camera in one of the pockets.

They sell them as running shorts...or the more biker looking shorts. I think they are called "race ready" or something.

That's so funny you posted this here. I was going to ask if anyone was wearing these. I'm at a stage where I really don't like wearing shorts, but I wear skorts all the time. I think these would be perfect for me. Of course, I don't think they'll fit just yet, but 1 day soon maybe. Hey, maybe I'll run the Minnie in one.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you like them. I also read there is one (don't know if it is this one or not) that has 2 small pockets. That may be perfect for all the little things we need to carry.

I don't think I could function w/out my fanny pack...I keep kleenex, wet ones, chap stick, sunblock, cash and munchies in it...oh and lets not forget my water bottle. Maybe that's why my timing stinks because I'm too weighed down. lol:lmao:

Mini Girl-
I am a larger gal, I got my skirt in the mail today, It is a size XXL, it fits. I am probably a good 30 plus pounds over weight. It is very comfortable and I ordered another one tonight, a smaller size....something to work towards.

You should give it a try!!
