Do under-2's count towards room capacity?

We have 4 kids. Next Summer (2014) when we plan to go, they will be 11, 7, and 18-month old twins. Would we be able to stay in a standard room (i.e. 2 Queen beds / 4 people), or would we have to book a family suite somewhere? I don't have a specific hotel in mind yet, but in general, what is the policy regarding that? Do they do roll aways? (i.e. the 11 year old would sleep on the roll away and the 3 little kids could share the other queen? )

I don't know the answer to how Disney will count it, but I do know you can get Pak-n-plays for the twins to sleep in. That worked great for us when we took DD at that age. The only issue we had was getting her to sleep in a room where we were. If this is an issue for you, I would recommend a family suite.

I have twins as well, 5 year olds. I believe you're only allowed 1 child under 3 in a pack and play. PORS does offer rooms with a Murphy bed that sleep 5, plus a pack and play would make 6.

For room occupancy purposes they will only count one child as under 3 so you would be a family of 5 + 1.

The only moderate resort with a standard room you could stay at is Port Orleans Riverside in the AB section like someone mentioned. Your only other on site options would be family suites or villas.

I believe you would have to list everyone on the reservation and unless you are going to be in a room at Port Orleans, you would need to book two rooms. They are very strict on the number of occupants of the room because of fire codes.

The Family suites at the value resorts are a great option. You could also stay at one of the cabins in Fort Wilderness.

Deluxe rooms have higher occupancy rates so you may be able to stay at the Polynesian or Contemporary, Beach Club, Yacht Club etc. These rooms have 2 queen beds and a daybed.
Call Disney and ask, or contact a Travel Agent. Magical Vacations is a great Disney travel agency.

As a pp mentioned, 1 of the twins would count in the occupancy and 1 would not, so you would be considered a party of 5 + 1 under the age of 3. With that said, for everyone to be in 1 room, your deluxe options would be the Poly, CR, GF, YC/BC, and BWI as all of those accommodate 5 + 1 under the age of the 3 in a standard room. POR Alligator Bayou is an option for a moderate, along with the value suites. Otherwise, you could get 2 rooms at any resort and request that they be connecting (although that would only be a request and would not be guaranteed). Good luck.

You are better off booking a larger room. I really wouldn't want to put the kids on the floor in a standard room with two beds. There's really not that much room and if you get up in the middle of the night you might have to step over them.

I think you've gotten some great suggestions so go with the 5 + 1 options and choose. I think a family suite would be your best bet as you'd get the kitchen which would help getting the twins fed and ready in the mornings.

The only way you would fit in one space at a value resort would be took book a suite. The All Star Music has them, as does the Art of Animation resort. The Music ones are quite a bit less expensive, as they are a few years old and the AoA ones are brand new.

The cheapest way to stay at a moderate would be one room at Port Orleans Riverside. You would all legally fit into one room, but that is all it would be, one room. In a value suite you would have a living room area plus a bedroom, and 2 bathrooms. And a kitchenette.

Correct. When you call 911 from on property, the Reedy Creek Improvement District dispatchers see the occupant count from the PMS (Property Management System) and relay it to the first responders. PMS also tells them the language used at check in to speed up getting a translator for the call.

In any event, RCID could theoretically fine Parks & Resorts if they responded and discovered actual occupancy in excess of the room's permitted occupancy. In practice it wouldn't happen, but some salaried cast member would have a bad day.

Some of the deluxe resorts do allow for 5 guests plus one child under the age of 3. The Poly is an option for the OP too, but it is not a cheap one.

You are a family of five plus one under the age of three. So you fit in a Polynesian room - two queen beds and a day bed.
