OK, so their are these two twins in my grade who are super smart and they get a perfect 12.0 every marking period. Well they are also the perfect singers they are great at playing an instrument and they are the best artists in school. I try to be nice to them because thier mom is like part of the PTO and she is also the director for our play. Well for the past two years I audition for the play and so do these two perfects and their mom is always the director and they always get the lead roles. While I am stuck with "townsperson." Well at the end of last year they said that they were going to a prep school and I was like "too bad, I am going to miss you," But in my head I was like "OMG I cannot believe that they are moving." I like had a little party. But then they are like, well that school lided to us and so we are just going to Fermi now. I was like no!!!!! But to get to the point, On Friday night we had the auditions for the play and I was hoping to get a speaking part. Well I show up and I think I did awesome and I was really loud and clear. Well also there were only nine guys who tried out and their were like ten guy speaking parts so I was really hoping that I would get a decent part. Well I got the results Yesterday and I am Soldier nimber 2. I am so mad. I have to wear a purple velvet outfit and go to all of the stupid rehersals and all I say is....wait......I say nothing!!! And those two stupid kids got the lead roles, again. Do u think that this is fair??

Why do u constenly complain about this teddy?!?!?!?!?!?!? (i am his friend in rl so don't think i am crazy) just leave it alone or actually do something instead of complaining!

I just wanted to know if anyone else thought that it was unfair.

Thank u Azure, that is what i told him. if they really are the best choice then they should get the part that they worked for.

It stinks to get your hopes up, then get them shot down. However, I "glove" purple. PirateGhostShip stand by your friend, he's bummed.

I mean maybe they did have a greater chance but truthfully, it kind of isn't fair because if your mom works there and you are trying to get a part and your mom's the one who decides i don't think that she wants to hurt her kids.

You know, I don't find that very fair at all. But things like that do happen. I'm sure your a great actor! But they could be great actors too. I'm VERY sorry that they got your hopes up too. It is not fair that they got the main two parts every year. You should tell your teacher what is happening. And that it's not fair to anyone.Just because their mother is the director does not give them the right to get the main part every year.

i was nice to him before but all he does is complain about this now, how many times do i have to hear this?? my point is he does this every year.

On topic: Every year?
Off topic: Check my signature for the computer I want

lol np it gives me some posts. I need 1000.00 anyone want to give me money?

Honestly it is hard to say without seeing your acting and theirs. have others told you that you are as good as they are? I do not think it is fair that the people who pick the roles are parents of kids who audition. There should be unbiased people doing the casting. Are you parents in the PTA? You or they should bring this issue up. Especially if you are serious about acting and want something good on your resume (although high school plays do not count for that much).

If you keep getting parts of "tree" or whatever, dont worry about it though. Wait until after high school and do community theatre (like I did). I don't know about where you live, but around here there are a lot of local theatre troupes. heck, you don't even have to wait: do it while you are still in school! My ex is a director (in college) who started his own local theatre troupe called "We Are Theatre". The basis of the group is that "anyone can do it". We had non-actors, high school kids, everyone! When people dropped out of my first play with the group, my ex even acted himself, and got the score composer to play a part (he had never acted...only did music, and he was the funniest person in the play! He discovered a hidden talent). Anyway I am getting off track, but my advice is do something about it, or forget high school plays and do community theatre! I just love theatre :)

Well maybe they are just great actors?

Azure, i go to the same school, and NO, they are not that great of actors. they try to hard, if you know what i mean. they get up on stage, they act without a care in the world because they know they will get a good role because their parents are the directors. i got soldier number 3, and i acted my heart that day. i moved around a lot, i was loud and clear, and honestly i think both me and teddy (PlutoEpcot) did a lot better than those perfect twins. I am over the fact that i didn't get a good part. I am NOT over the fact that they ALWAYS get a good part just because their parents are doing it.

Ah.. so it is the mother doesn't want to hurt her kids. So they have an advatage. I'd bring it up to the prinicple. But people seem to get around being in trouble most of the time.

Well, the mother must not want to hurt her kids. She must think that the kids are better. But I am sure they are not. They must just THINK they are. The way to do this is to get your teachers and such involved. Then there will be fair plays.

"Townsperson" is a better role than i get in these sorts of plays.

I always get "small elf".(I'm 4 foot 8)

OK back on topic.

As Mia said,do community theatre.Or,you could take it up with the principal Since the pricipal is your pal.

::yes::

As much as it hurts, this will really build your character in the future. While it makes you angry now, it will help you to be stronger and persevere in the future. The defeats you suffer now will make you conquer what you want in the future. Trust me - been there done that.

Please note that it may turn into the opposite for these "twins" in the future. If they are constantly the stars in something, which it appears has happened alot, when they get to the real world - they are going to expect that and guess what reality sets in.
