Do U think I can pull it off? Any tips?

Hi all

This may be the most last minute trip ever! My Dad is taking my kids for Thurs- Sat and I just thought maybe, just maybe, if I could pull it off inexpensive enough- hubby and I could escape to Disney! Am I nuts?

I checked SOG and they have available rooms....checked airfare but only found $200.00 flights (if I call maybe could I find cheaper?) Dont need a car....I have some park passes already for my trip in December- I could use those but I was hoping SOG might have a good price on length of stay- only really need 3 days at most (Weds night, Thurs, Fri)

What do you think???? Should I try???? Is it way too hot there now? Very busy???

Would you still be going in December? If yes, then I say go for it. It'll be nice to escape for a few days. Good luck, with whatever you decide.

PS: I live in FL.. it's been about high 80s lately, but heat index is in the 90s. I think you'll be fine as long as you duck inside for some rides every now and then.

cant' say about crowds though.. never been in Aug.

Absolutely not! I have been known to pull off a last minute trip like this once or twice before and they have been great!

When would you be arriving Wed night? You could get away with just buying a two day length of stay pass for Thurs and Fri if you are getting in early evening Wed. Just relax that night. Have dinner, go to DTD or PI or the Boardwalk. Walk over to the Poly and watch EWP. Go swimming at night, relax in the hot tub. You don't need to spend an additional $44 for a three day ticket.

What do you think???? Should I try????

If this is something that you can afford, why not? I'm very jealous just thinking about it!

All I can say is...GO FOR IT! (but I wouldn't tell the kids about it! LOL)

go for it. You can probably stay at a value for cheaper with post card rates. Since you are less the 7 days away airfare is going to be your most expensive thing.

I DID IT!!

My DH has NO idea this is what I meant when I asked him if we could go on a getaway since the kids are going to be gone! The kids don't mind at all becuz we are going in December and they are off to NH with their grandfather.

I can't believe I did it! I just hope its not too hot! I booked the airplane, the room, the transportation car....hmm...just trying to get some info on passes and off we go!

oh yay i'm so happy for you!

DH and I did this once a couple years ago when we were first married (second marriage for me) my lil one was on a trip with her dad and so we just went for it, we had a BLAST!

have a wonderful time!!! the quickest i've ever planned an entire trip from scratch was on a saturday night/leaving that Tuesday morning. and it was wonderful, exciting, and i'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Yeah for you! We are doing a last minute trip also, leaving Thurs for a week. We were supposed to go to Pennsylvania last week but the kids were so sick, we looked into cancelling and found we could change our Freq Flyer tickets for $25 each. I got AP rates at WL and Poly. (Also checked at SOG, but just wanted to stay somewhere else.) We are going again next June so we decided to buy APs at SOG ($371 for regular AP). Maybe it would pay for you to do that also since you are going again in Dec - or at least one of you? I got all this planning done last Wednesday, the day we decided to change our plans. We're a little worried about the heat too, but what the heck! Sounds like it will be overcast while we are there anyway. Have fun!!!
