Do Transferred points maintain Home Resort

Pretty straight forward. I am looking at a Resale GFV and it would have the same UY as my current SSR contract. my question is if I wanted to use all my points for GFV would I be able to transfer my SSR points to my GFV contract and book 11 months out at GFV?

Points transferred in retain their original home resort and use year.

Also, what you proposed wouldn't work as the new purchase would most likely fall under your existing membership. If you purchased a different UY or titled the new purchase differently, then it would be a new membership.

No your SSR points stay SSR points. Also transferred points are somewhat annoying because you cannot book anything online with them, you have to call to use them.

If you have A LOT of VGF points you could double book at 11 months, then at 7 months cancel 1 and try to rebook with your SSR points. That way you are protected against losing you reservation. BUT it would take a lot of VGF points and you are not guaranteed it would work.

Specalkay is correc that you can't see transferred points online. In order to use them you must call MS. And RiverCountry, just IMAGINE the mell of a hess that would happen if folks could transfer points and have those points magically change their home resort designation. Kinda makes my skin crawl thinkin' about it! LOL! But hey, it was an honest question…..

If we could get home resort priority on VGF, BLT, etc with SSR points just by transferring... Then everyone would buy 25/50pt contracts at the desired resort, and 200+ contracts at the less expensive option.
