When I was on the phone, I had already booked my Canada and was getting prices for others, the CM said "Oh, I just got a message, the New York prices are wrong." Hmmm...

WHAAAAT IN **** DOES THAT MEAN?!?
Sorry for the shouting but I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown trying to figure out how much I'll be paying...
. My 11B on 6/17 breaks down to $858.50 each, so maybe it is right...I thought it would be a bit cheaper than that with a rebooking 10% discount though. This is with an onboard rebooking discount (I think...I'm not convinced the discount is applied):
2 adults
6/10 11C $1587.78
9C $1879.78
5C: $2527.78
6/17
11C: $1663.78
11B: $1717.78
7/8
11C: $1807.78
7/15
11C: $1807.78
DCL is easily double the price of other cruise lines, even when leaving from PC. With that said I am still looking into the 8 day out of NYC, and I will use my Disney Reward Dollars to take some of the sting out. In my opinion cruises to nowhere are never a good deal.
Which sailings are these? 2-night? 5-night?
Honestly, how often is DCL twice as much as other cruiselines? I'm sure it happens, but I think it's repeated so often that some people think it's always true. That's far from the truth. Yes, I've seen it cost 15% to 50% more at times for similar itineraries, but I've also seen it priced up to 20% less than other cruise lines (namely the Oasis and Allure). Again, not always, but sometimes.
Our 2012 Fantasy cruise out of PC is priced less than nearly the exact same itinerary leaving on the exact same day as either Royal Caribbean's Oasis or Carnival's Dream ships. (About $1,200 less than the Oasis and about $175 less than the Dream). Plus, those two big ships are visiting the EC ports on the same day, whereas, Disney will be in the same ports by themselves on opposite days! And Disney visits CC instead of Nassau like the other two big ships.
I sooo want to go out of NYC in july/august to canada. I really hope it isn't that bad. We are booked on fantasy for 4/14/12, and I don't want to cancel that to go on Magic, but would like to do both. Hopefully it's not that bad...
I'll be on site tomorrow am checking it out... if it's 1700 for 2a, 1c for 2 night.. it would prob cost my family the same as it is for the fantasy! UGH
I could take 2 vacations elsewhere for the price of one of these itins.
Disney has always been higher priced that most other cruise lines. Since it came out, I have been in the travel business for over 17 years and Disney was always at a higher price point BUT you get what you pay for. NCL has always been less expensive BUT they nickle and dime you to death onboard their ships.
When all new ships come out no matter the cruise line its usually expensive. The new Royal Caribbean Ships are in a totally different class now, I actually would not want to sail on them because their itinieraries are bad, that is why they had to lower the prices for the month of April, people are not willing to pay those prices and get back service and a lack of itinerary. The ships are too big. Disney will still sell out these ships, mark my words. I know many of my customers will pay for quality and not having to fly with a family of 4 or 5 they are already making a huge savings right there and no hassle.
It's NY. Everything is more expensive in NY!

You better not!! LOL Just kidding!! I just posted on our thread this morning about the NY prices ... a little too rich for just 2 nights.
