Do they use the finger scanners for multi-day hopper passes?

Hi, can anyone tell me if they're using the finger scanners at Disneyland? I read conflicting reports and I'm wondering what they're doing now? Also, if I want to buy the refillable mugs at the Grand Californian, is it ok to keep going in and refilling it? I know that's what people do, but is it "legit" if you're not staying there and not eating there every time? TIA!

No finger scanners at DL.

I don't know about refillable mugs at GCH (Didn't see them while I was there, but I didn't look for them either). However, be warned that they have been requesting room key identification sporatically at the GCH entrance to DCA, so this may be risky.

The mugs at GCH used to be refillabile for length of stay. The sign above the mugs (now) seems to indicate they are a souvenier mug and not fillable for free.

We were just there 2 weeks ago and they did not have finger scanners.

I wonder why not as I believe WDW has had then for at least a couple years now if not longer? Could it be some sort of city or state ordinance regarding privacy preventing them from doing it?

Yes the Grand no longer has refillable length of stay mugs. Well technically they have the mugs, but no refills anymore!!!

Have no first hand info, but what I have heard in the past is that there isn't the value in having biometrics at DLR vs. WDW with having only 2 parks instead of the 4 plus other atttractions (TL, BB, DQ, WWS) at WDW. Cost of the system & corresponding ticket media, time to process entry & guest satisfaction may all be factors. There may also be a bigger AP base at DLR on a regular basis which inflates the attendance figures, so regular media is used even less. I think WDW got them when they went to the MYW tickets in '04 or '05, I can't remember exactly.

They're also not fingerprint scanners, so there shouldn't be any privacy issues. The biometrics at WDW is designed to measure the distance between fingers. I'm not sure if it measures length also or not. Any experts?

We were just there. No finger scanners and we looked for mugs at GCH and didn't see any of these either.
