Do they typically offer specials in Dec?

Considering going to WDW in early Dec. 2008 to check out xmas at the world. I've been learning about codes and pins but am wondering, since that is value season do they also have general public specials like they do in FEb? Last time we went in Feb we got free park hopper upgrades. Anyone know historically what/if any specials there are? And how far in advance they come out? TIA!

Last year, I think strating in Aug or Sept. they offered a percentage off the rooms good for certain dates in Dec. (and Oct and Nov)

If you see the 40% code issued to Florida residents recently, those dates were basically used last year with a 40% off of rack rate for most hotels. The Value's offered less of a discount. The code came out sometime in January/February. I booked in early March with the code which i caught wind of and it worked for me, along with persistance in calling CRO to see which CM would breakdown and give it to me. On the 4th try it worked and i got 40% off AKL standard view room which came out to $129.00 a night.

They had special rates in December of 2005 when we went, but we were unable to get them because we really wanted to stay at WL and there was nothing available there.

I called today just for kicks and they told me I had pin code for free parkhooper/water park upgrade until 3/15. I now remember something coming in the mail. I threw it away because I knew we couldn't go in Feb. again this year. The CM did tell me to keep calling back because they do sometime add codes to our name. I'm guessing I won't get another code (if at all) until after the March 15th one? Best advice, keep calling huh? If not Mousesavers shows the the last 2 years they show a general public discount in the fall. The only reason i was wondering because I think the only way we would be able to go this December is if there are specials. Right now the prices are a little out of our budget. Thanks for the info!

I just got a 30% off mailer today good Dec 7-17th. I must have already been on the mailing list because I just signed up yesterday.

I got the 40% off this pastyear from Dec.19-28. The last day of the deal was the 19th but they gave it to me for the length of my stay. I got pop for $49 per night.I'm hoping for free dining for the summer or another sweet holiday deal. I think I booked in March for December.
