For anyone who has been to V&A in the last month or so - Are they still serving foie gras? I know there's a lot of controversy over foie gras and the last time I was at California Grill they had removed it from the menu. I love it and hope V&A are still serving it. Thanks.

On my menu dated 10/17, there is no foie gras on the menu.

We were at the Chef's Table last month. We were served foie gras, but told it is no longer on the regular dining room menu. Our servers suggested that you can order it, you just have to request it. I suspect that is the case at other fine dining restaurants at WDW.

Hudson Valley Foie Gras used to be a regular participant/sponsor of Food and Wine Festival dinners. I guess no longer.

Thanks ElizabethB. I tried to request it when making my reservation but the CM had no idea what I was talking about. I guess I should try the direct number for V&A.

Is it 180 days out to make adr's at V&A - or it is different - also, how difficult is it to get exactly the day you want - out 10th anniversary is in Oct and I wanted to see if I could get that exact date or not

Normally V&A is not a problem.

The only difficult reservation is the Chef's Table, as there is only one reservation for that per day.

The seating capacity of V&A is 67 people. Normally they have 40-50 people per seating; this means normally you can even make reservtions a few days out. (However, some days may be crowded for various reasons.)

We were told it's not on any menus anywhere in WDW (assuming that means Disney-owned WDW restaurants). V&A still serves it upon request. I don't know about any other restaurants. I would assume they keep it on hand and can serve it when requested, but don't know for sure.

I asked the waiter at the California Grill why the Foie gras wasn't on the menu when I was there on October 20. He said they had taken it off the menu for the Food and Wine Festival because chefs came from all over the country, and in some of those places they do not allow foie gras. So they removed it for them. It really didn't make sense but who was I to argue.

I'm from Upstate NY (where Hudson Valley Duck Farms is located) and they recently had a very bad fire where they lost most of the ducks - I think it was 3,000 or so. They believe it was a group of protesters.

I was at V&A on 11/13, and the foie gras was most definitely on the menu. The waiter recommended it, I ordered it and then had to try to protect it from the wandering forks of my parents.

We also noticed that it was no longer on the California Grill menu when we went there a few days later, but I had a fantastic pheasant confit served with seared foie gras at Citricos on 11/17.

1) When they serve it, they serve faux gras.
2) It is more humane.

I know what Foie Gras is, but what how is faux gras different and how are we sure that this is what Disney uses?
