Do they still make you share a dessert on DDP at Planet Hollywood?

In 2010 we went to Planet Hollywood for dinner and we were on the regular DDP. When it came to desserts we were only given a couple of the options instead of the whole dessert menu and they told us we could only order one dessert as they were supposed to be shared on the DDP. I thought this was odd because we'd never been told we had to share desserts on the DDP before. Do they still do this?

We've gone to Planet Hollywood several times on DDP, most recently July 2011. We were given the shortened dessert menu, but never told we had to share a dessert...I'm sure I would remember if I was denied a dessert!!!

Huh. Thanks. It just seems silly to me to give people using the DDP less options for desserts. I know sometimes people do free dining but other times a lot of people pay OOP for the DDP and I feel like they shouldnt be limited in their dessert choices just because they decided to pay ahead of time instead of paying OOP when they got to Disney.

A shortened dessert menu? Don't they only have like 4 or 5 basic choices to begin with? I seem to remember a brownie sundae, banana split, key lime pie, cheesecake, and something else that isn't coming to mind as being the entirety of the dessert menu... Which items are excluded for DDP guests?

I personally understand the whole "serves two" thing because every dessert we've had there has been plenty to share, but I would prefer smaller portions and everyone having the ability to order what they want rather than massive servings and having to get someone else in the family to agree with what I want! :rotfl:

I think that's kind of ridiculous. If I want something different than my dining partner, I should be able to get it. Another reason I won't bother with Planet Hollywood. I did it once, and that was enough.

Well what do they do if you are dining with an odd number of people? Does one person just not get dessert??! This is making my choice to cancel Planet Hollywood even more of a sure thing.

Thats a good point :rotfl: I'm not sure what they do if there is an odd number of people. Maybe somebody who knows can tell us.

Last time we were there in a large group we had

Ticket1 on DDXDP -myself , DH and DD
Ticket 2 on DDXDP - BF, her DH and DGS
Ticket 3 paying oop - DBIL and DN

I believe that our server told us that we each could have a small individual dessert limited or share a reg size dessert between 2 people for those of us on the DDXDP. When I mentioned it the break up of the bill, she was like don't worry I'll make it work. Will opted to share. We had 4 full size dessert on the table and it was more than we could eat. It was enough for all 8 of us to enjoy a few bite's of each.

Just back from our trip and we ate at Planet Hollywood. There are individual dessert options now or you can share a regular dessert on the dining plan. Hope this helps.

I just saw a recent report that all desserts at Planet Hollywood except for one are designated as desserts "for two" and must be shared on DDP.
