Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

Sweet! We have a plan later in the week to have breakfast at Kona Cafe just so I can try Tonga Toast. I'm thinking of just switching it to Captain Cooks though. The reservation is at 7:30AM so I'm pretty sure we could make rope drop and I think the breakfast would be nicer although I haven't decided which would be the better deal of using our last DxDP meal for. Kona or Pizza Planet. I get confused about the dining plan and breakfast. Just not sure what kind of drinks are included. If the kids want some special drink that we will have to pay out of pocket for anyway then Pizza Planet I guess. :confused3

I didn't see any shirts that I really liked at Hot Topic. Didn't really see any Disney ones although their were a ton of clearance racks that I didn't have time to look at. I saw a couple I thought the kids would like (Annoying Orange and one about killing zombies) but the material was so thin for the price I decided to skip it and did something I always feel weird doing... walked out of a store without buying anything. :rotfl:

I've never seen the Enchanted Tiki Room, either! Although, I do have some pretty strong issues when it comes to birds, real or not.

Great MK plans! :thumbsup2 That Tonga Toast looks SO good...I'm seriously thinking of adding a Kona breakfast ADR, I had one, then canceled it for the Grand Floridian Cafe, but I might want to squeeze in both! We'll see...maybe I'll cancel CP and do Kona instead!

I haven't seen the Enchanted Tiki Room since I was little, and I think we're definitely going to do it on this trip, since they changed it!

*Sigh* I like MSEP because that's what I remember from the times I went as a kid, but I really, really love the Spectro soundtrack, so I kind of wish they'd bring back Spectro! In fact, I might watch it on youtube once I'm finished here...:rotfl:

I think spending all day at the MK sounds perfect! There are really quite a few ways to relax there. I can't wait to see what they did with the Tiki Room, too. And of course, MSEP and Wishes are a great way to end the day.

Shannon, Day 4 plans sound perfect. We've never had the Tonga Toast (I don't do anything with bananas), but Mark is planning on trying it when we go to Kona next month.

I've never tried the Tonga Toast myself. I know a lot of people have nothing but great things to say about it, but I still struggle with the concept of how toast with a banana stuffed in it can be that good.:confused3 I hope you enjoy your breakfast though! It looks like a fun day. You can't go wrong with a full day spent at MK.:thumbsup2

Ok. So I'm a little late to the party, but I'll try to catch up fast!

We had to order our shirts off of the hot topic website, there wasnt much in the store by us either...we did go there so I could try a shirt on to see how their sizes run :goodvibes

I HATE seagulls...but otherwise I am ok with birds :goodvibes

I have never had Tonga Toast...but DBF swears its great and he doesnt even usually like bananas, so it must be fantastic!! :rotfl:

I don't remember if when I was little I saw MSEP or Spectro...but I remember these freaky clown sort of looking guys sitting on these giant ball things, poor description :rotfl:

I told Tim we could ride the tea cups too...I haven't been on those since I was a kid, but I want to try and do all different things at MK that I usually skip

Hopefully it will live up to the hype I have heard...I am not a big breakfast eater, but I LOVE french toast :thumbsup2

Neither does Tim, but he will eat this one thing with bananas, I think its just because its Disney :lmao:

I think Tonga Toast is a perfect way to start out a MK day! :thumbsup2 Your plans sound great, MK always makes for a great day.

I like all the 4 parks, but MK will always be my favorite...I can't wait to spend the day there

Ok. So I'm a little late to the party, but I'll try to catch up fast!

:goodvibes Hey -better late than never, glad to have you!! :goodvibes

Great MK plans! I want to see the Tiki Room too. We've seen the "Under New Management" one but I don't know if I've ever seen the original. Even if I have it's been a looong time!

Thank you :goodvibes I have watched the under new management one on youtube...kind of glad I missed it :rotfl:

So I came home from work today and a Walt Disney World special from 2005 is on the History Channel...I took that as a sign to update this report!

On our 5th day we shall rest...or at least thats the plan for right now. We have thrown around ideas of possibly going to Typhoon Lagoon...or taking a tour...but we so far are sticking to the idea of getting at least some rest

We are hoping to spend some time at DTD this day and do some more shopping and just relax checking out the sites :thumbsup2

I also want to get a little pool time in at POP!

disney-Pop-Century-Resort-pool.jpg

I am wondering what section of the resort we will be staying in, Tim has only stayed over in the 50's section and I have only stayed in the 70's and 80's sections...so it will be interesting to see where we end up and what pool we end up in :goodvibes

We will be having dinner at one of my favorites...

ohana-sign.jpg

I cannot wait for this meal!! I know some people have had bad experiences here, but I have always had a good meal here and I love the starters and dessert more than the meat :rotfl:

Our plan after dinner is to grab some lapu lapus and head to

Polybeach_001.jpg

the Poly beach to relax and watch Hallowishes...I wish it was the regular Wishes this night, but alas there is a Halloween party most nights during the fall...it will still be a great way to relax and check out the fireworks though and I am really looking forward to it :goodvibes

We were going to do Kona, but wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to get to MK for rope drop...since I havent done that in the past

Well, after reading around it sounds like I won't be guarenteed the ability to use a TS from the DxDP on a CS meal so we will stick with Kona. Get there extra early and try our best to get to the park quickly. Since it's not a character meal and we have a 7:30 ADR I have a good feeling about getting there around rope drop time if not a little before. It is breakfast so I won't have to worry about appetizer and dessert orders.

I don't remember if when I was little I saw MSEP or Spectro...but I remember these freaky clown sort of looking guys sitting on these giant ball things, poor description :rotfl:

That's so funny! When we went for our honeymoon in 1993 I really didn't see the point in adults watching a parade so we skipped it for short HM lines. My sister and her friend were there at the same time and took lots of pictures of the parade. When we got home and everybody got their pictures back she had pictures of those freaky clowns on the giant balls and I was so glad we had skipped it. :rotfl:

I have been having trouble finding Disney stuff on U-verse (the search function doesn't search descriptions, only titles and actors) so I downloaded the TV Guide app and was able to find the show that was playing today and record it. I need to search again and see if I can find some more stuff. Not enough Disney Shows lately. Samantha Brown needs to do a Disney special every year!

I want to watch fireworks from the Poly beach but we are going the later luau and will most likely miss them.

Sounds like a great rest day! I keep thinking of MAYBE going to a water park one day, but we're already doing so much as it is...and I have to keep reminding myself, I'm not a water park girl! :rotfl:

Yay, 'Ohana! I always hear negative things about it too, but if people are so dissatisfied with it, why is it impossible to get an ADR there? It's seriously becoming harder to get than Le Cellier! :scared1: I'm with you though, I like the starters and the dessert the best, the meat is just whatever!

Can't wait to find out where you end up in Pop!

Pool time is a must:goodvibes We love O'Hana's too...one of our favorites...mmmmm lapu lapus...I didn't get one on this trip...they don't serve them at breakfast:lmao:

Wishes and Hallowishes...I love them both:goodvibes I can't wait to hear how you like watching them from the beach!:thumbsup2

I love those relaxing days at Disney! This one sounds perfect:goodvibes

Relaxing days are always so nice, especially ones that end on the Poly beach. I know what you mean about HalloWishes, though. When I was there in December, all I saw were the holiday fireworks, and I had kind of wanted to see what regular Wishes was like.
Either way, you two will still enjoy yourselves and the fireworks!:thumbsup2

Looks like a good plan for a rest day! Can't go wrong with some pool time and fireworks from the Poly.
