Three of the four of us cruising are beer drinkers. Do they serve pitches of Beer on the Magic say...at the pool? How about for dinner? In the bars?
Just wondering.

No pitchers of beer out and about, but I don't know about in the adult bars on deck 3 forward. You can buy a 22 oz mug (I think it's 22 oz) for $10 (I think), carry it around with you, and then get it filled up for the same price as a 16 oz draft ($3.25 - $375 or so). If you drink alot of beer it will definitely pay for itself. That's the best you are going to do unless you cut costs down and byob on board.

Thanks! I've cruised many times and only once or twice did they have beer in pitchers. It doesn't really matter, I was just curious. Thanks for the help! I think maybe we'll look into the mug!

My husband has not shown as much enthusiasm for this trip as I have, but when I told him about the beer mugs, he was ecstatic. He will probably carry his on a string around his neck! Maybe I can get him one of those beer hats, he can put a mug on each side, keep the straw in his mouth, and have his hands free for something else - Bingo, maybe LOL!

We had a funny experience on our first DCL cruise. It was one of the first sailings of the Magic in the inagural year. At dinner the first night, we asked for pitchers of beer and confused our servers. After explaining what we meant, they accomodated us (doubt this would ever happen again) by filling up a tea pot (silver, long spout) with beer. They did this each night and charged us...something, I don't recall.

But, that is a memory and not something I would ever expect to see happen again. It was funny. I guess because it was an early sailing in the young DCL life, they were still feeling things out.

The mugs are the best option for beer drinkers. Or, do like we do...carry on a bunch and drink your own. MUCH cheaper.

Cheers!

One interesting observation - Regina posted a thread how they "won a pitcher of beer"....wouldn't it seem likely that they sell them also?

I hope you're right. I know I've never seen them but haven't cuised in a little more than a year. Maybe things have changed. You never know!

I read that post and it was at a beer tasting. Maybe that was the reason/special occasion. By the way, we have cruised several times and done the Wine tasting...when did they start Beer Tasting? I'm very excited.

I know, Reginas post was what got me to thinking that maybe a pitcher was an option. On a cruise a few years ago on the RCCl Magesty of the Seas, we had an absolute blast, and met sooooo many people playing a silly drinking game at the pool with a pitcher. It was such a riot that people were standing around waiting in line to come and play!

The whole Tea Pot incident would have had me in tears! What a riot! Oh my gosh, I would have laughed so hard, then KISSED my waiter!

There was plenty of laughing about the tea pot. There still is when we bring up that memory. I didn't kiss our server team, maybe I should have! What a riot!

I thought that I heard my name mentioned. ;)

I'll see if the pitchers can be purchased. It's a hard assignment, but I'm willing to do it for the DIS.

See ya later!!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
