that are not throwaway or melamine? I LOVE my plastic divided plates - but they sure are ugly & cheap looking (bright green plastic) I'd love to have niceish dishes that were divided like them.

I like not having my food touch....:thumbsup2

Check at a restaurant supply store. Or google it.

Try some camping stores, I have seen several types in various places.

campmor, REI, etc.

I've gotten some from the Corning/Revere factory store. They have two sizes. Mine are solid white.

freak.....:lmao: just teasing!! i can only say this because my dd used to be like that and we always joked about her being a freak!!!!

(the camping ones probably aren't gonna be any prettier than your plastic ones)

Check out the Corelle Website. I think they have some in the Living Wear line.

This would be a great idea! I don't like it when my food touches either. Call me a freak - I don't care :lmao:

Here are some Corelle divided plates:

Here's the link if anyone is interested. They're 4.49/plate.

"Nice" and "divided" plates aren't 2 words I'd ever think of together.

And how can you not like your food to touch? There's nothing as yummy as taking a spoonful of mashed potatoes and smooshing them into corn then taking a bite. Its the only way to eat them together. :thumbsup2

I have and use everyday, the plastic divided plates too op. That is what I have always used for the kids.
I like the ones pp posted a pic of. If only they weren't white.

eewwww :sad2: :shudders:

I use regular plates, but my food is still separated into distinct portions. I wish there were fancy divided plates - I would so have some! My parents have 2 that are blue transferware with a Chinese scene. Dad says they were his grandmother's. So maybe check out antique stores and flea markets?

I couldn't survive without divided plates!!! I too HATE it when my food touches.

One of my friends found a set of 4 china plates with different floral designs on them. Around the edge and the divided section the plate is rimmed with gold. These are really beautiful plates. She found them at a Estate sale of all places. I use mine every night for dinner.

My friends have not so pretty, more functional divided plates at their homes for me to use when I come over. They think its funny....it is not at all funny to me.

There is one thing DH can count on - either eating out or eating at home, if there are mash potatoes and corn being served, the two must be combined. 95% of the time at Cracker Barrel, I don't even have to open the menu, it's the Ham dinner, the salty style, with mash potatoes (no gravy) and corn. Bring lots of butter. Flatten out the 'taters, load on the butter, then top it off with the corn. YUMMMMM!!!!!

But with lots of other combination, I very much under stand the desire to keep them seperated.

That's what my DD did, and ordered four to use with her kids (she's into the anti-plastic thing). She looked at the melamine ones, but you can't use them in the microwave. They're not cheap, though. She also ordered four bowls.

Geez, I remember when we got a set of Corelle back in the 70's, and it was dirt cheap! And ugly. Sold it at a garage sale for about $15.00. My five ate off of Corelle and plastic for years. Gasp. They're still alive! Apparently, this anti-plastic tableware for kids is now a big thing.

Thanks so much for the replies :thumbsup2 YEP I can admit I'm a freak! :lmao: is there a 12 step program for it?

HA HA! I'm not a total freak though - I can work around it if I have to - ya know I don't wanna NOT eat something on my plate if I can help it!:rotfl2:

My dad is the same way...and I also have to have my food extremely hot - not just lukewarm - so by the time I get everyone else served I often have to reheat mine before I sit down @ the table 'cause its not as hot as I like. YEP just like my dad on that one too.

I didn't realize Corele made some - GREAT - we've got an outlet fairly close to here.

But if Lenox or anyone fine china companies made them I'd definitely have a set too!

New dished for me :dance3: YAY!

Gosh they're patterns are as ugly as 30 yrs ago! I have my moms handme down casseroles that are just as ugly as some of these patterns! ;) Solid White is a good thing!

My everyday dishes are Corelle... the hard to break factor can be beat! I can't tell you how many I've dropped on the floor or the fiance has dropped a heavy pan on in the sink and no breaks yet!!

Now that said. I haven't found a pattern that I like so I stick with the plain cream colored set. Bonus is that the cream matches my Naturewood set from Pfaltzgraff so I can mix and match pieces if needed.
