do they have nachos on the ship?

We had nachos on the Wonder about 2 weeks ago. They were serving them at Pluto's Dog house. near the Mickey Pool

Yeah, but is it what I call, "plastic" cheese? Like gross pre-melted Velveeta cheese poured over a bunch of cheap flour tortilla chips and that is it? Please tell me it is wonderful Tillamook sharp cheddar melted on top of fresh corn tortilla chips with fresh olives, wedges of avacados, fresh diced tomatoes, fresh chopped green onions, mounds of freshly baked black beans, and cilantro leaves to accenuate flavor? Also, fresh shredded lettuce with chunks of garlic chicken? :cool1: :rotfl2: Am I dreaming? Probably so........oh, well...... ;)

Well, if you served your version of nachos to most people around here you'd get thrown overboard. :sad2:

We serve nachos at our Little League snack bar. Yep, the canned cheese sauce heated up and poured over corn tortilla chips, and we do have canned peppers available for those wanting them. Those things are our best seller, and when we host tournaments, with teams from other little leagues, we have people tell us they are the best nachos they've ever had.
They're nachos for goodness sake, not a gourmet snack!!! :cool1:

Here it is only 8:45 in the morning, and you have my mouth watering with your nacho description! I'm with you - I like your version better than the Velveeta. Anyone know the answer? What kind of nachos do they have on the ship?

Sorry tvguy but I'm with Disnurse here as well.
Her version sounds like savory cruise cuisine. The canned version sounds like bowling alley fare.

They also serve nachos in the sports bar on deck 3. It is the velveeta type of cheese, and they do have extras to pile on top. I remember some salsa, sour cream, and olives. My DD found these the last day of our 10 day cruise. She LOVES nachos, so she was bummed she had missed this!

Just give me the cheese, chips, & some salsa Oh & some hot peppers!! Better add a beverage of choice while were at it :-)

It also took us awhile to find the nachos in the Deck 3 sports bar. Once we discovered them, we were back every night. We just needed our Mexican food munchie fix. It was set up buffet-style, so you could use as little or as much of the "cheese" ;) as you wanted. We also loaded up on the salsa and jalapenos! They may not have been gourmet, but they satisfied a craving! :flower:

No, but you know where they do have good nachos like that? Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. SO, if you are dropping by there before or after your trip...Although I don't think they use cilantro.

Oooh, I'm so excited. I love nachos with the canned melted cheese. I had not heard of the nachos in the sports bar before. I'll definitely be stopping off there a lot.

What are the approximate times for the nachos at the Deck 3 sports bar?
Can you take some out of there? My kids would love to have those in the evening.

Thanks!

Wow! You guys all made my day. Nachos are my favorite food in life, and I think I could actually live on them (unfortunately for my diet--I keep cheating for nachos!!!). But now I know where some good places to get them are on and off the cruise at WDW. And to tell ya the truth, it doesnt matter if it is the gourmet restaurant nachos or the cheap taco bell nachos... I love them all!

Plutos also serves tacos, so if you ask nicely, they will put some of the taco fixins (meat, lettuce) on top of your nachos, in addition to the cheese-flavored liquid stuff.

I have to second that the nachos at Wilderness Lodge are great!!

I also have to second that I love nachos in whatever form I can get them. From baseball park to gourmet they are food from the gods. :teeth:

In my experience, the "nacho bar" was only available in the evening. We typically went before our late seating dinner. Nothing like a good pre-meal snack! :teeth: Once I tried to get some nachos from the sports bar in the middle of the afternoon and the food area was shut down.

As for whether or not you could take the nachos out of there - I don't see why not. I believe the plates were "real" instead of paper, so that would be the only thing you would need to take care of later. I'm sure those could be left in your room and they would get back to the proper kitchen. The nacho area was self-serve, so you could make a plate and pretty much take it where you wanted.

Does Plutos serve nachos all the time? Are they on the regular menu or do you have to ask specially?

I've been on the Magic twice and never knew about the nachos on deck 3. I love nachos, doesn't matter what kind...except for the nasty kind they have at Chilis...I think they pour enchilada sauce all over them...Ick !!!
