In accordance with the rules of the YoaMD Giveaway, prizes are only awarded between the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm.

The P&PPs fall outside of those hours.

The rules cover the "value" prizes (DFP's, Castle stay, anything tangible that has a $ value) not ones that either the dream squad (working on their "super greeting" shifts) or cast members can give out as they wish such as taking a family to the front of the line, special meet and greets, and such. Though I haven't heard of anything specific given away during special events I'm sure it is possible. Note that during the regular park hours they do give away tickets to those special events.

No, it isn't. The P&PPs start at 7:00pm, two hours after the contest hours end.

Trust me: YoaMD Prizes are NOT given out during the parties.

Buzz is absolutely right on this.. while 'magic moments' and non-prize stuff can happen pretty much anytime.. the actual Year of a Million Dreams prizes (as listed in the contest rules) are restricted to the hours he noted.

Though they aren't "YOAMD prizes" I would say they are a huge part of this promotion. Many posts have testified to how great it is to receive some special attention for CM or the DS. And since my family has received a million dream certificate for opening the park at AK (not a prize listed), it is part of the YOMD and a prize and dream nonetheless!

Hasn't EMH's been handed out past 5pm? I thought that was listed as part of the prizes but I could be wrong.

My understanding is that for Dream Fastpasses.. generally speaking no.. they haven't been handed out post 5pm.

I understand your point about the Magic Moments and Dream moments and certificates that go with them.. and it's a good one.. but the prizes listed on the official YOAMD rules are what we were speaking of when we responded.

Oh I see what you meant... not really an EMH per se.. but the special 'extra hour' ... these prizes are listed below but please note they are given away within the opening to 5pm prize window.

The rules do state the following hower..

If, on any given day, a location in a Disney Property is randomly selected: a time for awarding of the prize will also be randomly selected. As mentioned above, Sponsor anticipates that potential winners will be selected at the Disney Properties between opening and 5 pm local time; however, certain prizes (for example, Mickey Mouse Penthouse and Cinderella Castle Suite) are likely to be awarded early in the day to help ensure that a winner will be able to claim the prize and Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to select winners at the Disney Properties during any operating hours.

So.. while Disney reserves the right to give prizes away during any public operating hours.. the practice so far to date has been .. from opening to 5pm.

And in ANY event, despite reading these boards day in and day out for the past year.. I haven't heard of any official prizes being given away during any of the hard ticket party events including : Pirate & Princess Parties, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

I know the certificate you got says "Year of a Million Dreams" on it, but that's because they have the current promotion printed on them. In 2006 the certificates read "Happiest Celebration on Earth".

And CMs are supposed to be giving their guests that level of service regardless of time, place or promotion -- it's not unique to the Year of a Million Dreams.

I would hope they keep a lot of this going after the promotion ends, even DFP's. But it's still funny to me how so many at the park stare at their prize and have no clue what's going on.
