Do they ever run deals?

Like the regular resorts have AP discounts do the DVC ever lower the amount of points to stay in order to fill the resort ie 75 points rather than 80 for a week?

No, never.

What they have done is have a special for a cruise. I can't remember if they have ever done anything else. I only remember the cruise.

Filling DVC resorts never seems to be a problem.

There are a finite number of points available. Once a resort is sold out all the rooms are used for points stay or rented to pay for exchange options. They do have cash discounts at times and sometimes there are specials for some of the exchange options.
