Do they check IDs or anything for DDE cards?

I have noticed recently in various transactions I have been asked to see picture ID. This did not use to be the case. But appears many areas are being more closely looked at where before they were not.
Even last night I had to show my DL when using my debit card.
I am even having to show ID with passes.
So just recently I have had to show a picture ID when using DDE, debit card and ticket media.

If you didn't take your driver's license your last trip, how on earth did you get through airport security???

duh. :rolleyes2 You're right! I swear I can't remember having it but I must have taken it. :confused3

eta: I had to ask dh...we kept ID, credit cards, stuff we didn't need during our stay, in the room safe the whole time. I am such a birdbrain sometimes!

Or maybe to save myself embarrassment I should just say that I didn't need ID at the airport because we took our own private jet. right. uh-huh. that's it. :rolleyes1

Usually I take my DL in the parks. The one time I did not of course I was asked to produce it. :sad2: I finally got in. But what a hassle.
Not long ago I had a picture ID on me, but not my DL. I was asked to produce my DL. I showed my other picture ID and got a verbal scolding over that and not having a state issued ID on me. :confused3
So it really is just best to have your DL on you. I really have had to show it more this year than I have since all the past years combined. I assume all this is due to issues we don't know about.

Oh, that was you? I remember you! Everybody in the airport was looking on in envy as they pulled our plane away from the gate so your family could debark from your private jet. Nice-looking plane, by the way. Mind if I borrow it some time? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

disclaimer: private jets generally use the Orlando Executive Airport, but those that use MCO do NOT share gates with the commercial airlines!

We used our DDE card for the first time in April. DH mostly used his room key to charge for extras, and I produced the DDE card for the discount. We did not have to show id, even though the first names didn't match. :confused3

(It wouldn't have been an issue if I had to produce an ID - I had it, they just never asked)

Over the past 2 years, dh and I have both been asked for our DL every time we have used our DDE cards. Last year, when they were still doing 2 cards for one price, I accidentally took dh's DDE card with me to a breakfast without him. Even though I could produce dh's PAP, room key, and a credit card with both of our names on it so it was clear we were married, the CM would not accept it. I have found Disney staff to be very strict with the use of the DDE card.

I have never been asked for ID. Not once. I do generally use my room key to pay for stuff, maybe that makes a difference? I dunno.

The server who refused to let me use my DDE card because I didn't happen to bring a Driver's License with me would be the server that got no tip.

Um, why? Because they were doing their job?

As somebody who paid for the card I am glad that other people can' t just slip the card to "Aunt Sally and Cousin Flip" so that they can enjoy the perks for free.

I too have been asked to show ID at both CS and TS.

BTW, the Yak and Yeti probably won't effect the CS at AK because its not Disney owned and probably won't accept DDE like RFC. BUT Tusker house becoming a TS will probably bring about the end of the DDE for CS at AK.
