Do they add more flights as it gets closer?

Hi there,

I am checking different flight times for my Sept trip and am not finding any that are very appealing. We'd like to leave mid-late morning and arrive by dinner time if possible. We have to drive a few hours to the airport, so the really early flights aren't that great. And with two small kids, we don't want to arrive too late, as we'd like time to get settled and pick up a few groceries so we can be ready to go to a park the next day.

Will they generally add more flights as it gets closer to the date, or should I just book the *best* option at this time?

Usually no but if there is an unexpected peak in bookings then they may overbook without telling people (except for a seat map with nothing to choose from) and at some random time do a "schedule change" adding a flight and (also randomly) moving people to that flight knowing full well they will get a barrage of calls from those people who did not like what they were moved to.

Usually not. I asked this question not long ago and got a huge response.
Everyone said no.

I did follow to see if they did add flights and nope, none were added, so they were right.

We were in the same predictiment as you...we wanted a little later flight out, but in the end we ended up taking an earlier one. When you wait sometimes it doesn't always work out for the best...or the cheapest.

I would say no and especially not for September. Not a high season to travel to FL. Better chance of airlines canceling and changing flights due to planes not filling up.

I feel your pain.

It seems like flights are more expensive this year and the options aren't nearly as convenient. I must have lucked out last year with what must have been the last JetBlue non-stop PWM ever had They are obsolete this year and I've plugged in several different days.

My experience, No, they usually cut flights never add any. Anything is possible I have seen flights cut and then added back 15-30 days later. Good luck.

Very rarely. When they put out the schedules, they schedule all the planes they have. So if they were to add a flight, they would have to cancel one somewhere else.
