Hi!

Do the TV's inside staterooms have a USB port? My dad is coming with us on our cruise on the Fantasy and I think the Disney movies are going to get real old, real quick. I'd love to bring him some movies on a USB if there's a way to plug it into the TV.

Thanks!

No.

If you're talking about the Dream or Fantasy, there's a boatload of movies available on the TV. I doubt that anyone could watch all of them, even on a 7 night cruise.

Thank you! We've never really used the TV on previous cruises. Do they show movies other than Disney?

I can't say. I know the ones I watched were Disney, but I didn't go through the whole list. I do want to say that there may be some non-Disney ones, but I can't be sure of that.

There's like 25 different categories of movies, each with over 15-20 movies in it.

There were lots of non-Disney movies on both the Fantasy (on demand) and the Magic and Wonder, where they are played back-to-back, one on each channel. I know my DS watched Cowboys vs Aliens and Transformers on the Magic several years ago.

There's also (at least on the Fantasy) some ABC tv shows, along with some live tv from most of the major news networks along with ESPN. We were cruising during the middle of the NFL playoffs and we got all those games as well on our stateroom TVs on the "Special Events" channel. We were sailing in the Caribbean where I believe it's easier for the ship to pick up those live channels so nothing is guaranteed, but I'd say you'll be able to find plenty on the TV other than just Disney movies.

On the Magic there's always a half-dozen or so reasonably recent films that they play nearly continuously. We saw several on our last cruise. None were Disney or Disney related (Women in Gold, The Age of Adeline, The Duff, and several others). The last time we sailed on the Dream there were a ton of movies on demand, both Disney and not, as well as lots of TV series (mostly playing on ABC). We never had a problem finding something to watch, not just Disney or Disney-related.

The part I don't like about the Magic and Wonder is that the movies are on a fixed schedule. Seems like if there is a movie on TV that I want to watch, it started 15 minutes ago :-) . I can either start watching and not know what is going on, or try again in a couple of hours. By that time, we are either doing something else, or I've fallen asleep.

We have iPhones and iPads and got the Lightning to HDMI adapter cable and load a bunch of things on them and connect those to the TV.

Do you know if you can bring a portable USB power adaptor to plug into a regular outlet and then charge your USB devices?
I think power bars are now prohibited but not sure about these. Thanks
They also are called plug-in charging stations.

Yes, the multi-port usb chargers are fine. Something like this:

Not that anyone doubts you :) You are absolutely correct. I was getting such different messages from a thread that I finally called DCL and was told that these are fine. We have a lot of I devices to charge phone, watch, iPad etc.

I have to admit that we've seen the middle, beginning and end of a film (in that order or mixed up) several times. Which is a little weird. On the other hand, it's actually made us interested in watching films we might not normally have watched. After that we've then made the commitment to actually set a time to watch it from the beginning. And I have to admit that we're also sometimes a little too lazy to actually pick a film to watch from beginning to end if we're doing on-demand if we're not sure about it. Either way, we usually do spend a fair bit of time in our room watching movies. Grab a drink from on deck, a slice of pizza or taco or something, retire to the room in the mid-afternoon on a sea day and watch TV (and/or snooze a bit). Great way to spend a leisurely afternoon. Something I can't normally indulge in at home. Looking forward to that this December.
