Do the same QS substitution rules apply for children's meals as adult meals?

I know that I can sub my drink or my dessert for a marked "snack" item, but can I do the same for my son? Like, I was thinking at some QS, I might get a lemonade slush instead of a soft drink, but I was wondering if my child can do the same. It seems like the drinks are pretty much set for the children's menu? I do know that I can sub out the fruit for a cookie, if its available, and the drink for a soft drink....but if we order from the children's menu (which I know that technically I don't have to do but my son is not an adventurous eater), do the same substitution rules apply as far as the drink or dessert for a snack item, like an adult QS meal?

While it should since they could technically get an adult meal, somehow I doubt it because their meal is an all-or-nothing type meal. It won't hurt to ask, so I would definitely ask, but be prepared for the no.

On another note, most QS have a somewhat plain adult selection, so you should be able to find something he'll eat in the adult options and then he can definitely sub.

Yes, we will do this wherever we can find something. Thanks for the reply!
