We're going in October & my wife's birthday will be during the trip. Do the resorts offer anything "special" for birthdays? Anything "birthday special" in the parks?

A special dinner somewhere is a given & letting her "own the day" is also a given. Our son & I just want to make mom's day the best since we'll be there for the first time for any of us.

Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to the Dis! :goodvibes

Have it noted on your ressie (both hotel and dining for the day) and see what happens. Some will do something, some will not... Depends on the CM... I have had champagne sent to the room at the GF for our anniversary and a room upgrade at AKL with a signed card from the characters for my birthday. We have also gotten special placemats and cupcakes at Chef Mickey's for both occasions, a piece of cake and a song at Teppanyaki, maple leafs and a crown at Le Cellier, and a waiter sang Happy Birthday at the Sci Fi with my glowing ice cube as the candle!! All were pleasant surprises and not expectations.

There are free Birthday Buttons at Guest Relations in all the parks you can get her. Also, check out the cake thread on the restuarant board if you wish to order something to be sent to your hotel room or restaurant (for a fee of course).

Have a great trip!

THANKS!

We booked everything online a few wekks ago. I did put in the little comments section it was her birthday. Is that good or should I call before we get there & add it on?

Have a great day!

1) If you want a "special" day, you need to buy things yourself, such as
. . . flowers
. . . baskets
. . . gifts
2) Resorts and/or restaurants only sometimes do things.
3) There are so many people and so many "special days" there aren't enough CM's.
4) However, when CM's have the time, energy or willingness, there are things
. . . flowers
. . . baskets
. . . upgrades
. . . wine and cheese
. . . balloons and autographed cards

NOTE: These extras (aka, Pixie Dust) is strictly up to the individual CM. They have a lot of things they can do, if they really want to contribute.

I would mention it again at check in (plus it is fun to make her blush!!!) When you call back to make your ADR's for that day, tell the CM to note it as well.

Good luck!

Anyway, I just had to share how "extra" special Disney made my DDs birthday. While she was napping late Monday afternoon there was a knock at door. It was CM with a birthday bouquet of balloons and a card. The card read, "Happy 5th birthday Isabella, love Minnie XOXOX with 5 x 7 photo of Minnie. When she awoke, I told her Minnie came while she was sleeping and dropped this off.

http://

After his nap, we got ready and I sent DH to the bus stop before me so I could decorate the table in our room. I had ordered a cake previously in the week and asked to have it delivered to the room in the evening. When we got back to the room around midnight we found a birthday cake and a birthday greeting from Mickey Mouse along with some balloons (greeting card with balloons was CM from check-in extra special thing :) )
