I only have 2 flights to choose from and would prefer the earlier one, but that would put me at my resort at least 2 hours before the 3pm check in time. Are they usually good about this (assuming they have rooms cleaned and ready)??

We are staying at the POFQ and our only request is a smoke free building.

I know this does not happen all the time but we have gotten our rooms and were able to get in them in the AM 2X.
I have heard other of other people that have not been this lucky. You can, however, always check in etc. and they will hold your bags for you. You just may have to wait for your room.

Yes, you can check in as soon as you arrive, however your room may not be ready. If you do that you can get your room key, a number to call to see if your room is ready yet, maps, tickets, if you don't already have them, and store your luggage. We do this everytime.

Have fun!:)

No guarantees of course, but we have always been lucky enough to get into a room before the 3pm time. If not, we were planning on storing our luggage like other posters have said.

Good luck! :wizard:

A couple of years ago we were at the world in April, very busy time. We started out at Hotel Royal Plaza in the WDW village because Disney was sort of an add on for that trip, we were actually going down for the Air Show in Lakeland. Any way, upon arrival we weren't too happy with HRP but decided to make the best of it. Trip got worse, and after battling a family on the tram from the parking lot that refused to fold their stroller until threatened by the CM with a call to security DH told me to find us another hotel, no matter what cost. I got a wing room at the CR at RACK RATE during PEAK season, yep, tons of money, but hey, he said move right?! I had called the Central reservation office from my cell as we were on the tram, got the room for the next day. WE checked out of HRP that morning and arrived at the CR at 11AM. I don't know if they knew how unhappy we had been or what bu they told us our room was ready then and they sent our luggage to the room for us allowing us to head straight to the park :) That helped make the CR one of our favorites!

One time I checked into CSR at 8:30am with 3 friends and got 2 connecting rooms immediately. Too bad they didn't tell us they were smoking.

Years ago, we checked into POR (was Dixie Landings at the time) at 8:00 am without any problem.

I've had a couple times were we checked in early - once at CBR, another time at the Swan and a hotel switch to AKL from another Disney Resort. All times they had rooms available. At AKL our particular room wasn't ready, but they were able to offer another one, and that worked. We've been really lucky. They will store luggage too, so at least you can get the luggage off your hands, if the room isn't ready...

We always check in early. The earlier that you are able to check in, the better chance that you have to grab a room meeting your requests.

Good luck! :jester:

We have checked in early both times we have stayed on site no problems. First time we where there at 7:30AM yup AM and the second it was about noon.

We stayed at POR last year and we were able to check in when we arrived which was about 11 am. Good luck!

I was just coming in here to ask the exact same question. Glad to hear that it's not a problem. :) We are heading over today and we won't be getting there that early (maybe an hour or so before check-in), but I'd hate to wait and leave later just to get there right at 3pm.

I wouldn't say it's never a problem. We were at POFQ at 11am and was advised that the room wouldn't be ready until after 3pm. They also gave us a card and said that we needed to call the number to see if the room was ready. At 4pm when I called they said the room still wasn't ready and that they can't "guarentee" when it would be. So we went to guest relations who basically said "tough cookies" and that's when I requested a manager. While all of this was happening our room magically became "ready" and we were able to go to it.

BTW this all took place in October 04 so I am not even talking peak season like July.

Good Luck

We usually get to WDW early in the AM and have several times gotten into our room before 9:00 am. On the times we haven't been able to actually get into the room that early, a room has always been available by 3:00. As others have said, even if your room isn't ready, you can stow your bags and head out to have fun!

Last year we got to POFQ at 2pm. I wasn't upset when they said our room wasn't ready. However at 5 pm, they informed me that check in is for after 3, and is not even guaranteed for 3pm. Just be prepared for this.

last time I went, we arrived a couple hours early, and they had rooms available, but if they don't they can hold onto your luggage for you and you can go to the parks, or pools or whatever and just go back later to get your room #/keys

I ALWAYS check in early and have been lucky enough to get a room right then and there. I also think that the earlier you check in the better chances of getting a room you really want. Good luck! :cool1:

We also have never had a problem checking in early, other than a bit of good natured scolding from the CM at the front desk "Welll, your not supposed to check in, but I'll see what I have :D". Odds are you won't have a problem, especially if you're going during the slow, value season.
