Do the resort do anything special on Christmas Day?

I know that decorations go up throughout various resorts early in the season, such as gingerbread houses, etc., but do the resorts do anything special on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for the kids? It would be nice to know if anything out of the ordinary goes on at the specific resorts, such as Santa visiting, or gift giving around the tree, special meals at the restaurants, etc.?

Thanks

Most of the restaurants offer a holiday meal. The one time we were at OKW on Christmas Eve night, we woke to a small stocking hanging on our door.

Santa better not be visiting on Christmas Day. He's still got work to finish.

I don't believe there is anything official aside from the usual resort activities. However and when we went at Christmas in 2007, we stumbled upon a Mickey and Minnie meet and greet on Christmas night at the GF. Mickey and Minnie were appearing in pictures together which I was informed was not customary.

We were there 12/21 - 12/28 a couple of years ago and during that week they had cookies and lemonaide in the lobby and Mickey and Minnie made an appearance in the lobby on Christmas afternoon / evening (we actually missed them).

While I think it was wonderful of Disney to offer cookies and lemonaide (and we did partake :) ) It wasn't very holidayish. I was expecting something more festive in honor of the holiday... apple cider for example or decorated cookies instead of plain, etc. It just seemed a bit lame ... kind of like what we do at my workplace once in a while :rotfl:

The lobby itself is beautiful any time of the year but at Christmas... Wow! Oh and Santa makes an appearance on multiple days for pictures :santa:
We really enjoyed touring the monorail resorts to look at their decorations.

We spent Christmas day in the MK and had a traditional dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern... yum! The size of the crowd BLEW US AWAY!!! Holy moly!

We were at Disney this past Dec. and the resorts do things on the days before Xmas and on Xmas eve too! They had snickerdoodle cookies and cider for free. We were staying at the WL and on one evening they had a choir. The characters came by at different times in their holiday gear to take pictures. Santa was there on Xmas Eve too! It was awesome!

I found the printout of activities! (This is for the WL, but FW, GF, CR, and Poly had similar activities)

Dec 19-22 Meet & Greet with Disney characters in the lobby

Dec 24-
1pm Lodge Craft
2pm Jingle Bell Rockin pool party
3pm Holiday games on the beach
4pm Sand snowman contest
5pm-9pm Meet & Greet with Santa
5:30pm Xmas music around the campfire
7pm Muppet Xmas Carol movie

Dec 25- 1pm Lodge craft (Reindeer Xmas card)
2pm Rockin Reindeer pool party
3pm Florida Snowball Burst
4pm snowman wrap relay
5:30pm Xmas music at the campfire
7pm The Santa Clause movie

We loved our Xmas visit and can't wait to do it again. We visited all the resorts to see all the decorations and had Xmas Eve dinner at 1900 Park Fare & Xmas dinner at Il Mulino. Bothe were fantastic!
