Wondering whether to bring our stroller that has great storage areas for lunches and other park stuff?? Our large group will be needing to rent one and possibly two ECV's in the parks. So, what kind of storage baskets, if any, do the park issued ECV's have??? It would be convenient to have the stroller for our three year old when he gets tired and worn out, but a little more hassle to keep track of. So, an option is to have him ride with a grandparent when he gets tired and just use the ECV's for storage, too.
What style are they?

You might want to bring the stroller as children are not permitted to ride on the ECVs. My dd rented off site and the basket was very small, definitely not large enough for a cooler or backpack. We did hang a backpack on the back of the seat.

you are not allowed to let ANYONE ride the ECV other than the ADULT who is operating it. the 3 yo IS NOT going to be able to ride with either grandparent.

Oh ok, thank you both for the info about only one person riding. We will be bringing the stroller for the storage and kid.

This is a picture of the ECVs that are for rent at all of the WDW parks. It does have a decent size basket, although I would not leave anything of value or any food in there - squirrels and birds have been known to help themselves.

As the other posters mentioned, having a rider is not allowed and it is actually in the rental agreement for park rental and most off-site ECVs.

I think people were so firm with you because we (me) have tried to have a child ride with us and been growled at by CM. They even growl if it is not their ECV. The stroller is really the best idea.

Gate check it at the airport (if possible) and it can carry all the carry on stuff for the family thru the airport. I would have the boy ride at security however.

I've seen kids accidentally hit the driver's hands.
One example, the ECV almost hit someone and in another it hit a fence at World Showcase at Epcot.
