I didnt inform VWL or BCV that we are celebrating DS becoming a teenager when we're there in August. Im thinking just the WL or BC (actual resorts) may celebrate. Is there a chance the DVC villas celebrate too or no?

 completely depends upon the CM when you check in - definitely mention it and I would order a cake - both BCV and VWL had chefs - call the front desk and ask to speak to the chef - (I don't have the extension - someone else may they are printed on the newletter you get when you check in)

if you want something more then try

the CM might add some ballons and a card signed by the characters - or do something completely different - or nothing at all - just depends.

WVL and BCV are resorts. By celebrate, do you mean send a card/balloons to the room? If so, they don't discriminate by cash or points rooms.

Having said that, just because you tell them about the birthday, doesn't mean they will definately do something. Each time we informed the resort check in desk, we have been surprised with a card, balloons etc. but I have read of others that were disappointed when nothing appeared.

My advice is to call MS and have them add the birthday note to your ressie. Last time I was asked which day, and on that day a Magical Moments certificate arrived from someone at DVC. I never told the resort about the birthday, so I know it was MS that sent the surprise along.

Do not expect anything unless you pay for it. Just dont wwant you to be disappointed.

During check-in last October we mentioned that our BIL was having a birthday (um, 45). He got a phone call from Mickey, and some balloons in the room.

My DD turned 16 while we were at OKW. DH called the desk to ask for a cake to be delivered. When we returned to the room later that day they had also delivered a bunch of balloons and a card signed by the characters...I thought that was nice!
