Are the blackout dates on a PIN ever different than the blackout dates on a GP discount? The PIN dates for the spring are good through 3/2. We check in on 3/1 which will only help if its a dining discount. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks!

Pins usually have a wider span of dates than the broad offers.

Free dining is based on your check in date. As long as you check in on a date covered by the promotion, you are good for up to 14 days.

If say, 3/2 was the last day for free dining, you can check in on 3/2 and still have FD covered for the rest of your stay.

Room discounts are different. They only apply to the covered dates. In the case above, if you have a room discount offer that ends on 3/2, that would be the last day that would have the discount. The rest of your stay would be at rack rate.

If you check in PRIOR to the start of a free dining promotion, you will not get it. Your only option then is to do a split reservation - a room only reservation first, and a package reservation after - whereas the second reservation starts the day FD starts. You will only have free dining on the second res. You can request tickets from your second reservation up to three days in advance. You do not want to get a dining plan on the first reservation as it will require paid tickets.

Thank you both! I guess there isn't much hope they'd blackout a different week on the GP discount. Ugh! I still can't figure out why this week is blacked out but Presidents week is not! There is no way Mardi Gras week is more popular than Presidents' Day week. It's so random!

Its Play/Stay/Dine for early 2014. Not free dining.
But it does get your adult park tickets and dining plan for the child's price.
The P/S/D GP Promo should be bookable starting the 2nd week of October.

Mardi Gras is a very popular time to go to WDW for people in Louisiana. They close the schools for the week.

But my guess is that the PIN ends at the beginning of March not because of Mardi Gras but because it is the beginning of the higher priced spring break period.

Good point on this... And wonder what happens when you book a package that ends in the middle of your stay.

A RO discount would only give you the discount only on the advertised days. The rest would be rack rate

An FD discount would give you the discount up to 14 days provided you check in on or before the end of the advertised days.

But what happens to P/S/D promo?

Actually, the first week of March is still Regular season. Peak season doesn't start until March 8. This is part of my confusion.

I wondered why the cut off was 3/2 as well.
This year my package started in mid of spd and whole trip was covered beyond cut off date.
