Do the crowds really bother you?

I like REGULAR season. Not too hot, not too cold, not too empty, not too crowded. I went in late June last year. A wee bit too crowded in most places you wanted to go to. People at the water parks, people in the pools, people on the lines and people on the stools. On the other hand January pre-MLK weekend was a ghost town and that wasn't much fun either. Not enough people to keep the Adventurer's club hopping. EPCOT was downright lonely early in the day. And yes the hours sucked. MK seemed to close before dark and the other two parks definitely did.

Yep, I HATE crowds everywhere! Nope, I have no patience! :teeth: Heat and crowds do not make me a happy camper. I think the heat is worse than the crowds in some aspects.

You would never find me out on Black Friday or anytime close to the holidays shopping. I love online ordering. :cheer2: I'm with the others on Walmart - early morning.

We went early May this past year and wasn't too bad. We will be heading down the first of March next year and expect it to be better. :thumbsup2

Since summer is the only time we can go for a whole week, I don't let the crowds bother me. We have just learned to adapt. We get to the park at opening while alot of vacationers are still sleeping in and hit the most popular rides and we have became fast pass experts. We don't even try to deal with them during the heat of the day, we go back to our resort and take a break and swim then hit the parks again in the evening when at least it is usually a good deal cooler which makes it easier to deal with the crowds. The one thing about crowds I am not patient with is long lines. Unless it is a ride dd has her heart set on I will normally not wait for a ride with more than a 20 minute estimated wait time. I am a person who likes to be doing something all of the time and I get bored just standing waiting in line, and you can only play rock, paper, scisors with your DD so many times.

I LOVE DISNEY ...... but I gotta say, I don't love the crowds :sad2:
We purposely go in the "off" months to avoid them ..... waiting in line forever, even with a fast pass, isn't my idea of fun !!

I remember going to Disney once right after 9/11, in fact in was 2 weeks after, and the parks were virtually EMPTY ! It was strange, but magical too, without having to wait for anything .....

With all that said, I agree with one poster that said something about the heat, I would much rather have the big crowds than the HOT temps !! Now THAT is bad !!!

We always go during the first week of June and have both the heat and the crowds and never really have problems. The heat we can do without, but with judicious use of FastPass and a little patience we are always able to do and see everything we want plus some.

The crowds have never bothered me. I've always gone in the summer since my parents both teach, so that's the norm for me.

Then I went during Christmas week. My dance team was in the Citrus Bowl parade, so it was a side trip type situation. I found it almost hard to have a good time and at times, pretty scary. We were trying to get from Liberty Square to Splash Mountain during the afternoon parade, and normally there's at least one throughway - nope. It was like sardines in a can. Once you got into the crowd, you couldn't even turn around to get out. When the parade was over, I would have been terrified if I had little kids. People were pushing and yelling trying to get out of the crowd. It was awful.

I will NEVER go back during Christmas week again because the crowds lived up the reputation.

I must admit that after shows and fireworks the crowds really do suck! People get rude and start pushing especially with those strollers :furious: , but other than that crowds are not usually that bad.

Strollers are bad, but the worse are those ECV. At the MK fireworks, had one run over my foot (did not see it coming was watch the fireworks). They stated that it was my fault that I should move out their wait because they were "handicap". So when the next one came flying down the walk I moved (had one of those small post that they hook the rope behind me). You can quess what happen. Not very PC of me. Again they were yelling at me. I said "That if you drove it right, you may have been able to stop before hitting the pole. What would you done if that was one of the kids sitting /sleeping on the walk?" No answer they just left

I've been during several different seasons but the past 2 trips have been during the july 4th week... :rolleyes1 There were so many people there it was hard to breathe!

Crowds are good and bad if you ask me... yes I hate waiting for things (I want it now now now! :rotfl2: ) BUT, with judicious Fastpass use, and attraction planning I manage to get through everything I want to see. Also I have been there enough now where if I don't see something it's not a huge dissapointment.

I say crowds can also be a good thing because I believe that part of the magic of disney is the people that you meet and interact with while you are there. So having alot of people can be a good thing too, as you get more of a chance to meet new people and enjoy the ambience... :goodvibes

There is only one thing I can't stand... something that makes me want to ... well .. do bad things... STROLLERS! :furious: ... and don't even get me started on those ECV's... I mean I can understand it if you are handicapped... but well nevermind I don't want to be mean :)

I don't mind the crowds so much, I am more irritated by crowds based upon circumstance...if it is really hot or humid, the crowds bother me...if I have some kid continuosly hitting my back-side, the crowds bother me...if I have someone so close behind me that I am confusing them with my underwear, the crowds bother me.

The only time we can go and have gone is Spring break and yes it was crowded, but it didn't bother any of us.

Those strollers....ugh those strollers.... :furious:

I couldn't agree more. The strollers are a pain for everyone.

OUTLAW Strollers at Disney !!!

Only kidding !!

But seriously, how much fun can the parks be with a two year old in a stroller. They will never remember the park or the trip until they are older. Save your money until they can walk. I personally waited until my kids were old enough to go without afternoon naps at age 7 and 5.

Actually, I went to Universal early in the morning this past weekend and there was almost no crowd, and it made me feel sort of sad. The crowd is actually part of the experience for me. It gives you some people to look at while you're waiting in line--and it just sort of makes me feel more secure. Don't know why.

The first time we went to Disney, it was October 2001, so the parks were soooo empty still. It was fantastic! I think it may have spoiled me a little, though.

Last time we went at Thanksgiving, and the day after was a nightmare of people! No spank you.

We went with a 7 month old, then again with a three year old - both times had a fantastic vacation. He does remember the trip when he was three, lots of stuff about it.
We try to be considerate with our stroller though - getting hit on the ankle with one of those suckers hurts!

I guess being a frequent visitor the crowds do not bother me or my family at all. If an attraction we want to see/ride has a long line we either do FP and come back or jsut walk on by and catch it when the lines seem shorter.

WE have done all times of the year and love each for their own special reason. I love July 4th at WDW and T-giving as well. Both weeks are crowded, but to me it adds to the atmosphere. I also like the extended hours for the busy time frames as well. Doing October/Early November we always had to end up at Epcot to close the day. Not a bad thing, but I do like to have some choices.

In fact, we have planned a FLA trip without WDW, but decided to get some 10 day park hoppers with no expirations to surprise my son with a few days including Thanksgiving day.

WAHOO!!! Going back in a few weeks!!! :cool1:

:rotfl: That would work, if vacations were all about kids... I loved taking my babies and young children there. I especially enjoyed when people would walk right into my stroller, and give me a nasty look...

Everyone should be careful when there are crowds around.

Sometimes crowds do bother me, but its mainly how some people act in those crowds. For example, the "RUNNERS"!! They actually run to the attractions and try to run you over! THE PARK IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE! DO NOT RUN! Geez...and of course, the stroller thing. And the crowds going to the buses after the park closes. Some folks act like there is ONLY 1 BUS. :confused3
There are more! Just chill! And dont run me over!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends. In a place like a mall, crowds would bother me. At a sporting event or amusement park, I think they add to the atmosphere. I just hate waiting in long lines under any circumstances!

I agree. I can live with the crowds with no problem except when it's time to leave and adults don't seem to think there is anything wrong pushing toward the exit regardless of the 6 year-old in front of them walking as fast as his little legs can carry him. :furious:

I go during busy times. I try not to let the crowds bother me, but heavy crowds at MK can get to me. Some of my more enjoyable times at MK have been evenings that had a late afternoon-early evening storms and sent others packing. Generally the crowds at other parks don't seem to be nearly as bad.
