Do the characters really hug you ??

It seems to me that the characters are pretty good at reading a situation and body language as to the level of contact someone wants....

Exactly. The characters are very good judges of who's into the physical contact and who can do without. At our Crystal Palace breakfast I got hugs from everyone, big tight ones! But they knew DH wasn't really into it, they really only put their arms over his shoulder for the pics.

Definitely! I got hugged by just about every character and even 'kissed' by Tigger and Stitch :) The best was in hs when I finally met Tigger for the first time. I'll never forget that-he is my all time fave animal character :)

Yes - they definitely will hug you! Tigger nearly knocked me over with his hug! I'm handicap and walk carefully!

Mickey in the Land (Garden Grill ?) restaurant sat down with us and held our baby. That was a first for us!

My dd is going to the bibbidi bobbidi boutique i hope she gets extra special hugs for being a princess! If she does i know she'll never forget it! Im so excited for her !

The character definitely feed off of the guest. If the guest is timid, they will usually try to make them feel ok and take it slow. But if the guest goes bounding up, talking away a storm, they usually respond in kind.

They love to hug !!

Definitely get a Photopass! You don't want to chance not having the absolute BEST pics of your trip :thumbsup2

Hugs from any character you want!

Like PPer's said, interact with the characters. It will make your character experience even better. Especially with the 'face' characters. When my DS (at age of 3) wanted to meet the Princesses in Toon Town, I was a bit surprised b/c he has never really shown interest in them before. I quickly learned that he has a crush on Belle. When he met her, it was an incredible moment. But that meeting just set him up for the next Princess which was Aurora. They must have had a 5 minute conversation about being a pirate (my son is into pirates) and slaying dragons. Aurora asked my son if he would slay a dragon for her and he told her he would slay 5 dragons (putting up his hand) for her. All the CMs and Photopass CMs loved this little play between them. There was lots of laughter. Plus, I think he was the only little boy in the room! :rotfl:

I love hugging the furry ones, especially Mickey!!! I won't hug the face characters because I feel strange doing it, I guess I stopped hugging face characters when I was 18 or so. I guess it may start up again since I have a son now and it might help him feel better if he sees me hugging them.

The characters will most definitely hug you! One time, I got bear hugged by Baloo and literally almost fell over. A few years ago at MGM, Stitch and I even shared a waltz. Even at 19, a trip to Disney isn't complete unless I get a hug from Minnie Mouse. And it makes for an excellent picture when I'm wearing my Minnie Mouse ears. :earsgirl:

:scared1:MICKEY is furry !?:lmao:

At Crystal Palace, Eeyore seemed to be very clingy. He didn't want to stop hugging everyone, lol.
My girls asked Tigger to bounce with them and he did, it was super cute.

You gotta watch Pluto...he LICKS! :lmao: He licked the back of DH's head at a character meal, and then wiped his tongue and shook his head like he tasted bad...of course DH didn't see it and had no idea what was going on when the kids at the next table went into gales of laughter seeing Pluto go after a grandpa! It was so funny!

And Stitch sneaked up behind him and blew a raspberry in my his ear at O'Hana's...and I was lucky enough to be taking a photo because I saw Stitch coming...the look on DH's face was priceless!

He must just look like a good sport because characters do stuff like this all the time to him! :) I LOVE IT! :thumbsup2

Pluto not only LICKS - he BEGS! He kept begging for my husband's food... didn't stop 'til he offered him a beer. Then he got all excited. I love Pluto.

I got a great big hug and kiss from Pooh (actually, after we walked away, DH accused Pooh of flirting with me :rotfl:).

Pooh and Eeyore are the only characters DS would get his photo with last time. They were the first characters he loved when he was little and he still has a soft spot in his heart for them. I hope he always will!
