Do styles change?

OMGosh!

Starts out looking like my mother and ends looking like me!

EEK!

And seem to come back around. It looks like the 70s again in the stores, mini skirts, boots, hip hugger bell bottoms.

Thanks for the link Dan. You Chicagoans really know how to do St. Paddy's day. We're lucky to find any thing more than Hallmark decorations. Yikes!

I guess styles do change but today I bought a pair of sandals that I owned the first year I started worked in a shop--20 years ago!! I loved those sandals and yayrah! they are back in style! LOL

Haha Dan! I was just thinking yesterday how happy I am that the stlyes always seem to come around again. :p

In the 70's, wedge type platform shoes and mid-calf, shirt waist dresses came into style. Yesterday when I was out shopping, I saw the same styles coming back again. So -- in the 70's, the style was considered retro because it mimicked the 30's and 40's. Now, it's retro because it mimicks the 70's. :p Either way, I'm glad the longer, flowing, dresses are back. I really like them. :p And I'm really glad the "old" wedge style shoes are back! Whoo hoo! :p

You know I was thinking the same thing when I went shopping today :teeth:

I want to know when the style of the 50's is coming back....you know poodle skirts, bobby socks, etc!

My Poodle skirts are out of style? Who knew?!

j/k of course!

I figure there are only so many skirt lengths, so many fabric styles, pretty much all styles seem to recycle, like the big padded shoulders of the 40's and 80's!

You know....come to think of it....I remember seeing a woman not too long ago in a poodle type skirt...actually..it looked more like a christmas tree skirt...the kind you have around the bottom of your christmas tree! It wasn't very flattering...I think it was more the pattern than anything!

reminds me of when I was a little girl. My Mom had this beautiful (to my young eyes) satin Christmas Tree skirt, with gold trim and lot's of sequins, my sister and I would play dress up and wear the tree skirt all the time! It was similar to the 50's poodle shirts my Mom had in the closet, but much more "beautiful" in our minds.... and not as long so we didn't trip over it when wearing it!

That was fun, Dan. It's interesting to see how the styles have changed over the years.
