I have some of my ADRs are already marked that we are celebrating our anniversary, but I have cancelled, booked new ones, rebooked old ones, and never told them when I made the new ADRs. We will be wearing our anniversary pins you get at Disney. Do the servers ever pay attention to the pins people wear weither it be an anniversary, birthday pin, etc.?

They paid attention to the point that we got a congratulations, but if there is anything special to the restaurant that they do (like the confetti), it probably won't be done. We were on DxDDP, so I don't know if we missed out on any free desserts. I would suggest calling back once you have firmed up all your ADRs, and make sure the note is on all of them. DH didn't put the note on any of ours, so we missed out on some special stuff. (I am not of the opinion that we deserved anything, so please don't take it like that. We missed opportunities.)

Most of the time, they notice the special event pins.

I don't know if you are expecting anything other than "Happy anniversary," though.

If you're looking for something free, it's nice when you get it, but you can't expect it whether you are wearing pins or whether you put the event on your reservation. You may get something or you may just get congratulations. Please don't go in with the expectation that putting your event on your reservation will guarantee you a free dessert or something.

Some do, some don't. Our server at Coral Reef noticed my DH's b-day pin and brought him a special b-day dessert. We didn't have anything noted on our ressie. It was a really nice and unexpected surprise. :)

Im not expecting anything at all really. If they give us something, awesome. If not oh well. Not that big of a deal. I was just wondering if anyone got noticed and got anything out of it. Thats all.

Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. But when they do, in my experience it's usually something nice.

The PP was of the opinion that she didn't get something special because her husband didn't put the event on the reservation, and it's possible she wouldn't get one even if he did, because they don't always do something.

We got lots of Happy Anniversary's from CMs and visitors alike. It was on our ADr for Cali Grill and we got a window table with confetti on. The lovely lady on the till at Captain Cook's at the Poly gave us a free Dole Whip each when we bought lunch. It was the first one I had ever had and it was yummy!

What is interesting is to see the ascendancy of such markers; it almost seems like the majority of folks are at WDW celebrating something specific.

It's 50/50 as far as getting something out of it. Most times you just get a lot of congratulations from the host and your server though.

Oh yes for us .Everybody said something to us . It was Awesome!
We never took off the pins lol.

Absolutely!!!!!! June 24th was my birthday and we were at WDW. We had ressies for LTT that evening. I had my birthday button on when we checked in at the podium. When we were called and seated, there was "pixi dust" all over the table and the host said "looks like Tink was here already to wish you a happy birthday!" Through out the meal, the servers would wish me happy birthday, the characters pointed to the buttom and "mimed happy birthday" and then at the end when it came time for dessert, a bunch of servers flocked me with bells and sang an old traditional happy birthday to me and presented me with a chocolate cupcake and candle. It was truely a memorable moment I'll never forget. :cloud9:

You can get the pins at Guest Services at any theme park or at your hotel's front desk.

When we were at WDW last May for our anniversay we were on the receiving end of lots of verbal congratulations which was very nice.

We received some unexpected pixie dust from a CM at the Animal Kingdom who pulled us out of the stand-by line at Expedition Everest to wish us a Happy Annie and then gave us fast passes to jump out of stand-by. That was fun because we were loooking at a 45 minute wait otherwise.

Kona Cafe, Flying Fish, and California Grill all gave us free anniversary desserts - totally unexpected but very much appreciated.

The only reservation that we had our anniversary noted on was Victoria and Albert's and that's because they personalize the menus and we were there on our actual anniversary date so we wanted that to be just right.

I think a lot of it just depends on the server and the restaurant and the timing and plain dumb luck. We didn't expect anything from anyone so when something did happen it really seemed magical.

At your hotel's front desk (that's where I got mine) or can get the pins at Guest Services at any theme park's. I also got my b-day pin last yr at Chef Mickey's.

Did you have a note on your ADR that it was your birthday or did they just do all of that just by seeing your pin at checkin? We plan on wearing them everyday, and all day. Yes, I know our anniversary is only 1 day...but its our anniversary trip and our trip is more then 1 day. ;)

No they just noticed the pin. You'd be surprised how many CM just came over and wished me HB through out all the various parks. I was surprised. One young woman actually ran across the entrance area at the MK just to say "happy birthday". She must have had some vision! :rotfl:

But this is funny....when I made the reservation for the hotel, I mentioned to MS that it was a "birthday trip" for me, and DH suggested spending it in WDW. Well, she picked up on that immediately, said nothing, but noted it on the ressie. When we checked into the Boardwalk, the CM at the front desk said "this is a special trip for you; happy birthday Linda" and handed me the button. She said to "wear it all week" but I told DH that I was happy wearing it only on that day. Besides, at first, I felt a little "silly" wearing the button. I'm a more "mature" person :rotfl2: but a child at heart. But after having it on for 5 minutes took care of that!!!!

We were at WDW in May celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Every CM at the California Grill noticed the pins and wished us a Happy Anniversary. When we got to our table it was decorated with Mickey confetti. We were also treated to a chocolate cake for dessert. The plate was decorated and there was a Happy Anniversary from the California Grill done in chocolate and white chocolate on the cake.

At the Flying Fish Cafe CMs wished us a "Happy Anniversary" and we were given menus with "Happy 25th Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. ___________" on them. We were once again treated to dessert and the dish said Happy Anniversary on it.

At Jiko all of the CMs we encountered wished us a "Happy Anniversary". We were treated to dessert and coffee.

One of the CMs at the BCV heard it was our 25th Anniversary and she sent up a platter of fruit and cookies when we arrived at our room. She also sent up balloons and a card from Mickey and Minnie on our second day. We later found out she made a notation on our itinerary that it was our 25th Anniversary. She made 25th Anniversary stay at WDW magical.

"Magical" is the right word. That's exactly how I felt. So much infact, we're going to do it again next year! I think from now on, God willing, I'll be spending my birthday in WDW.

You can always tell them when you check in ...and maybe they will decorate your table

I was there on my birthday this past December, and had numerous CMs and guests wish me a happy birthday. When I entered the Haunted Mansion, the CM said "Happy Death Day" and it really creeped me out!
