Do rooms generally 'open up' as the cruise gets closer?

Just curious....

I currently have a room booked on deck 6, which is just fine with me. However, my first choice was deck 7, which there is no availability. Not a big deal at all, I just wanted to be on deck 7 aft.

I check the DCL website everyday to see if any deck 7 rooms have become available, but nothing so far.

I was just wondering if, as the cruise gets closer, do you see rooms open up & become available?

Inventory is always changing....most rooms open up right around the final payment date as some will ultimately cancel.

Sometimes rooms open up when DCL juggles the inventory closer to sailing due to upgrades...so, anything is possible!!! I would call DCL in addition to the website as inventory can change very quickly and might not get posted on the site.

I agree and I have been told that it also depends on which Cat you booked? And if a Cat room on that deck opens up.
But I would keep checking because you never know when something could change.

Final payment time is the time when the biggest changes occur, but cancellations can happen at any time. Just keep checking inventory on DCL's website.

Just in case you're wondering, the final payment is due 90 days before the sail date.
