Do ride refurbished follow a seasonal pattern?

It's always hard to guess when disneyland does its ride closures but is there something of a pattern to them? For example does Indy usually close in the spring... Screamin' the fall? Just wondering. I feel like GRR closes in late winter/spring consistently. tyia!

Edit jeez that thread title is horrible. I'm on my phone and can't figure out how to edit. :faint:

Nope. Other than seasonal overlays. With water rides it does tend to be in winter. You can kind of then guess some things around what you know. For example, if there's a known months long refurb of Star Tours it's a good bet that Buzz or Space won't go down until after that's done.

Not really, other than (as SMD said), the two water rides (Splash and Grizzly Rapids) usually close at some point in the winter for a refurbishment. Not exactly a refurbishment, but Haunted Mansion usually closes in mid-to-late August through early September for the installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay and then closes for a few weeks in early January (after the end of the holidays) for the removal of the overlay. Space usually goes down about 4 days before the start of HalloweenTime for the installation of the Halloween overlay and closes briefly for the removal of the overlay in November (just after Halloween). It's a Small World usually closes in mid-October through early-November for the installation of the holiday overlay and then closes in late January for the removal of the overlay. Jungle Cruise also closes for a few days before the holiday for the installation of the holiday overlay and closes briefly in January to remove the overlay. Everything else is semi-random seeming.

Thank you for the input, I figured that would be too easy lol.
For a related note are there any major headliners that are due for a big(ger) overhaul for 2016? There was a push this spring to get everything done for the 60th and with the celebrations likely extending into 2016 would it be a safer bet that there could be less closures heading into Spring/early Summer next year?

Alas, I don't know that the closures this year mean there will "less" closures in early 2016. Personally, I would guess that Peter Pan is less likely to have another long closure in 2016 because of the one this year, but I wouldn't say the same for Matterhorn (because the new effects are awesome, but the ride itself is still horribly rough). Soarin' was the only other ride that experienced a major closure this year, but there are rumors that it might someday get a new film/movie. I would say your chances of being there when things are closed are the same regardless of what happened recently.

The only real guide you can go by is water rides in the winter, seasonal overlay closures and if you know a ride has just finished being refurbished within maybe the last 3-6 months I wouldn't expect it to close again for refurb for a few months.
