Do resorts have a nebulizer?

It does plug into the wall but you can also buy a battery pack or car adapter. My son is 12 and uses the mouth piece that comes with the unit not a mask. After seeing my unit, my friend ordered one for her 2 year old grandson. She ordered the extra child size aerosol mask for $9.95. You can take out the med cup/mouthpiece unit and use a regular tubing (with the med cup) and a mask.

Hope this helps. Any more questions, let me know.

Just as a fyi, pulmicort is a heavier med, and not all portable nebs are able to turn it into an aerosol. If your child takes pulmicort, make sure it says that it works with pulmicort.

As a friendly peds respiratory therapist I can tell you that offically there is only ONE neb that is approved for use with Pulmocort. Why? because they only used the one neb for testing so that is what is approved. Since the drug company needed to save money during the testing, they don't make much money you know. :rotfl2:

But now in the real world ,and just proved by a study in CHEST magazine any neb will work for any med. All of them put out the correct partical size for good deposition ,But here is the kicker you need the flow at 8 to 10 lpm. Most home nebs right now only do 5 - 7 lpm output. That is why Pulmocort seems to not work with some nebs.

To the poster who said their child hates the Albuterol, it might be because it tastes nasty. I put off using my inhaler often due to the taste and the shakes I get as a side effect. I know, stupid, but as an adult I know when I *need* the inhaler as opposed to when I can *fight off* the attack before it actually starts...there's kind of an "aura" I get before the onset of an attack.
